Obstacles...What ones would you like to do? Seriously, series?
1. The first book of a series.
2. Each member must finish a saga, trilogy, etc. (must start and finish within the time frame!) - This can be all different series for each person on the team, it just needs to be a series with more than three books. Remember - the longer the series, the more points, pages and books you rack in! This one is HARD so you get to add an additional 50 points to the team total, not just 10.
- Genre Based
1. A book from a genre you do not normally read from and CANNOT be a Fiction novel (i.e. sic-fi, fantasy, memoirs, self-help, etc.)
2. Read a Self-Help, or Personal Growth book
3. Read a comic book or graphic novel
- Buddy System
1. Read a book recommended by another person participating in the games! (Team member has to be one that is participating in the race, but does not need to be on your team though!)
2. Team Read! Read a book as a group. This can be through the entire race and not everyone has to read it at the same time - JUST needs to be completed before the race ends to get the bonus.
- C&B Related
1. Read a book where the title starts with a letter in COFFEE AND BOOKS.
2. Each member must read a book as a group (same book!) from Coffee & Books archived BOTM's (hint: check out the groups bookshelf) - BOOK MUST BE FROM 2017 AND PAST (2018 DOES NOT COUNT)
The Point System - regular books100 pages to 499 pages: 1 point
500 pages to 999 pages: 2 points
1,000 and plus pages: 3 points
The Point System - Obstacle Books
Triple the amount of points for the book. So if it is a 3 point book, and it lands in as an obstacle book - it will be 9 points.
If the entire team completes the obstacle, the leader will add 10 points to the overall team score. Please note: The members personal score will remain the same (tripling the book point) but the total team score will get an additional ten points added to it once everyone completes that obstacle.

Also team read book. It appears this can be any book, we just all need to read it at some point during the games.
I'm up for just about anything as long as it's not difficult to get.
I'm reading Northanger Abbey at the moment which works for both. It's in the public domain, most libraries have, it's fairly short and very funny.
That sounds like a great book. How about we recommend 1 or 2 books each until Wednesday and we can vote or choose the one that we prefer. If you just want to second someone else’s choice feel free to do that too.

I'm game for Joy's suggestion. So we would do that for C&B archive challenge? Then we still need another group read that can be anything. Not sure what everyone likes to read but I'll suggest Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman. I've had it on hold at the library for a couple months and it just became available.

I second Dawn’s choice. It looks like a great read. I am looking forward to reading Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey.
