What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I mean, the title pretty much has it all. If my memory is correct, the kids won some sort of contest I believe. I remember them all being on a really fancy jet plane on their way there, all the adults bragging about their kids... OH! I remember the main character IS a kid, but for some reason he looks a lot older and they all assumed he was an adult. I think he took a girl with him to act as his "daughter" and they both lied about the whole thing just to get to the moon. Or something. They went through all the space training and everything, but while they were in space they went off-course somehow and lost connection to all the other adults, I believe the main character was the only "adult" to go with them. They went to the moon and spelled DAD out with moon rocks for the next person :P It sounds silly and ridiculous, but I remember it being kind of sweet and funny. It's also DEFINITELY original so I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be too hard to find . . . I just can't remember what it was called :P

It was a kid's chapter book. I don't remember when I read it, but it's been a few years... I'm not sure how many though XP

I know I have read this one, too, but I can't find it in my list of books.
