Here's my current read if anyone wants to joing in. Or just discuss. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I really want to get started on The Universe of Xuya series sometime this year. There are a LOT of books in that series so I might give it its own thread. IDK. I'm waiting for book 1 to get here: On a Red Station, Drifting
This month so far I've read:
Binti
Re-reads of Murderbot (all)
Sweep of the Blade - online serial in progress
Beyond the Empire
First Test - just started

I've only read short fiction by de Bodard so far and I've had On a Red Station, Drifting on my TBR shelf since 2015. I must get around to reading it at some point (once I can get my hands on a copy).

I started on Rise of the Seer but IT started kinda grim and I wasn't in the mood.
Also reading:
How Not to Get Shot: And Other Advice From White People
Homeland I've started this one before and quit. Let;s see...

How Not to Get Shot: And Other Advice From White People"
I wish this wasn't so relevant ALL THE FUCKING TIME. Sigh. :(
I added to my TBR though. Does DLH read the audio? *fingers crossed* If so, I'll probably have to reactivate my Audible. Again. LOL

I'm finishing up Thud, and then I think I'll start Wintersmith. Catching up on Discworld.

Murderbot is the BEST.

I'm afraid to read King's new one, because I have not enjoyed his last 6 or so offerings. And it doesn't sound good at all. I think I have to just give up on being a Constant Reader.
However, I LOOOOOVED Born a Crime. I listened to the audio, and it is fantastic. Hope you're enjoying it. :D

That's a deep list, my friend.

May I just say that your recent King rant was a thing of beauty? It made me feel warm inside.

It's one of many lately, unfortunately. I read a friend's review of Elevation, and... I absolutely KNOW that it would be another ranter, and as much as I want to be a King completionist, it's just not enjoyable anymore.

Oh, that sounds like it would be fantastic. Let us know what you think!
I'm reading things but have only finished a very short book this month so far. Lots of stall-outs on the audio front. Audible's unabridged Sense and Sensibility is the one that finally stuck. Finally I have been able to enjoy this story without the movie actors' images completely overwriting the text. (view spoiler)
Almost done with The Night Tiger which I won in a Goodreads giveaway. It's going slowly but that seems to be working well for this magical realism-like story.
300 pages into Deadhouse Gates. It was interrupted when Night Tiger showed up, and since I have a BR planned for the end of the month, am unlikely to finish it until sometime in December.

I keep planing to read that. Own two copies. Both in print. smh

Also finished up another MB re-read.
Getting ready to start Dark Arts and a Daiquiri.
Also reading Homeland in audio.

But the people who like it, REALLY like it, so maybe it'll work for you. :)

I struggled with book1, tbh. It was confusing and irritating...but then it became glorious.
When I went to start book 2...and saw a new cast of characters... I put my head down and sighed.

Aye, I get that impression. :D All I can say so far is that I'm enjoying it more than I expected. More later!
S&S is my fourth Austen. I barely remember Mansfield Park, which means I'll have to reread it. S&S, P&P and Emma are all so good, for different reasons, and I can't decide what order to put them in!

I started reading two collections of short stories: Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams: Volume 1 and The Pan Book of Horror Stories. So far, I'm enjoying Dick's stories more but that may change as my reading proceeds.
