Amber, jump in with Allison and I and we'll do group copycat :) I've got a lot of reading to do this month, so would happily choose a book from both of you &B Allison's shelf... you can choose from either or both of us depending on if you want to read one or two books for the challenge this month :)

Ok, will do :)

Amber - I'm definitely going to be reading Hatchet - I have been trying to read it all year and just keep not getting to it, so this is a great push, and I have the book on my bedside table, so no excuses! If I have time, I also want to finally read Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine, another one I've been meaning to read for a while!

I've finished the book and I'm a bit iffy on it actually! Loved the last 50 pages, struggled with the first 100 pages and felt a bit 'meh' about everything inbetween.

I'm glad to hear it grew on you. This is one of my favorites. I think I can relate to Eleanor more than is probably ideal lol

Sorry for taking my sweet time to look through your shelves. I've picked Six of Crows but I probably won't get to it before next week. If you don't find anything on my shelves, but you're interested in reading Mortal Engines, I'm going to read it the first thing after I finish Roadside Picnic, as I won a copy of the book and tickets to see the movie, so we could do a buddy read. Or if you need any help or would like recommendations, let me know! I'd be happy to help!
Mion

Enjoy - that's a nice light fun read :)

Sorry for the delay December is going by so fast! I was thinking of reading Howl's Moving Castle as I adore the movie. However, I have never done a buddy read before so I'd be up for that too :)
Annie

I am finished with Howl's Moving Castle, it sucked me in and I finished it in no time! I really enjoyed it. Even though I had seen the movie, I was still puzzling over some things. I thought it flowed really well, though I felt like there was a main plot hole that was never really discussed.
Happy Reading

I'm glad you enjoyed Howl's Moving Castle. I'm getting more and more in the mood for rereading it (and the other books in the series) and watching the movie over Christmas. I'm almost done with the book I'm currently reading and I picked up a copy of Six of Crows from the library earlier this week as well, so I'll dive into it either today in the evening or tomorrow.

I started off pretty slowly and I honestly gave up reading this at a few points but after the first 100 pages I really got into it .
I hated the protognist's final decision but nevertheless the last few pages made me tear up . This is one of the few books that are quite honest about the portrayal of dementia and I loved it.
Thanks for choosing this book.

And I think since I might be the only one in the world who hasn't read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, that I'll make that my next read, from Allison's shelf.

I've started reading Six of Crows but unfortunately, the first two chapters haven't hooked me yet. I even took a look at your shelf again in case I should find something else to read, but I decided not to abandon this book. After all, it keeps popping up everywhere I go and so many people seem to love it. So instead, I picked this book up as an audiobook. What a wonderful surprise it was to find how good the narration is. Since the holidays are at my doorstep already, audiobook seems like a really good use of my time in cooking and baking and everything of the like.
Happy holidays!

Sign up period: Until November 30th
Partner pairings announced: December 1 (announced in this thread)
For FULL details of how the copy cat challenge works, please visit the 'About Copy Cat Challenge' post here ...
SUMMARY:
In this challenge, participants are paired up to choose and read a book from their partner's read shelf and compare how they each rated the book. It's a fun way to discover new books, to read from different genre(s), and to make PenPal connections. This challenge repeats monthly, and you sign-up separately for each month you wish to participate.
COMPLETING THE CHALLENGE
- Week 1: Review your paired partner's 'Read shelf' and choose a book(s) to read. Post to this thread to update your partner on the book chosen. (You can ask them for suggestions too!)
- Week 1-4: Begin reading, and post any updates/thoughts as you read.
- Week 3-4: Complete your read, and post to the thread with final thoughts on the book and comparing how you and your partner each rated the book.
Participation = Post to thread (book choice), Read book, Post to thread (finished book thoughts)
NOTE:
- Please only sign-up if you are confident you have time to choose and read a book. If you are no longer able to participate after signing up, message a Mod or update this thread, so we can re-match, and no-one is left without a partner for the month!
- Remember to re-visit this thread on December 1 to see who you have been paired up with for the month (adding a calendar reminder helps!)
