Starting off with a slow jog to get his body warmed up, Sebastian made a few laps around the forest. It wasn’t his first time here. Ever since he was ten, when he discovered what he was, he would come out here to learn how to shift. That way, he wouldn’t be caught, and if he was found, it was normal to have animals in the woods.
After a coming to a stop, Sebastian bent over to catch his breath while also mentally thinking of what to change into first. But before he could make up his mind, he heard a cry of pain followed by a growl. What the... Immediately, Sebastian started to move towards the source of the sound. After a few moments, he found a brown bear trapped and in pain. His eyes softened, feeling bad for the animal. Of course, he didn’t know it was a shapeshifter yet, but still. He had a soft spot for animals since technically, he was one too. “Easy now, girl.” Sebastian said gently as he approached her. He held out his hands to show her that he wasn’t going to harm her. “Don’t worry. I’m going to help you. Just calm down.” Quickly, Sebastian knelt down to take care of the bear trap first.

A boy stepped out, she bared her teeth, but he was unfazed, getting closer to her. Only when he held out his hands did she stop. Animal instinct took over and she inhaled the hands of the stranger. They carried a homey scent with a mixture of dog. He’s a dog person she thought. Her sapphire eyes glinted at him, showing the small hint of humanity that was inside the beast. She huffed, bringing her head down to the trap. Reka looked back up, pleading at the stranger to let her go. She wondered what his reaction would be if she changed back. But at the moment, Reka was too weak to even start transforming back to human. She was stuck with a handsome dog-loving boy. And she was a stinky brown bear.
Reka steadied her breathing, trying to focus on shifting back. Her bones cracked and she felt her paws shed some fur to skin. But the glimmer of shifting ended at another stab of pain from the trap. It seemed to dig into her further. Reka roared in frustration, shaking her head.
Trying to hurriedly pull back the metal clasp, Sebastian earned a loud roar from the creature, which made him stop. “Sorry, Sorry.” He tells her and glances up to her with an apologetic look. He held her gaze for a moment, seeing something in it, before telling himself to focus and hurry. “I’ll be careful this time.... just... just stop moving.” Sebastian tried again with the trap. He didn’t notice the girl attempt to transform. He was just focusing on the trap.
After getting a good grip on it, even though it was hard because of her blood, Sebastian managed to pride it open and pull it off of her. “There you go.” He said with a sigh of relief.

Trying to get dressed with one hand was an art, Reka concluded. She had fallen, tripped, anything that left her skin and face dirty with the earth. Reka covering her wrist with her other hand, walked out of the trees, remembering the scent of the boy until she was back to where they met. She was relieved that he was still here.
Her feet were now protected with worn out combat boots. She had her long, brown hair loose, but from the transformation and rolling around in the dirt, few stray curls now stuck to her face in sweat. Reka wore a flowing, burgundy dress that cascaded behind her, but offered her legs movement at the front where the skirt hiked up to her thighs. Her head lowered as she watched the boy, the animal in her still remained from the recent transformation. “Excuse me?” She asked.
“I…” Reka wanted to lie, but she had nothing. Her wrist was bleeding. There was no possible way to lie about this, but she tried. “I’m lost” she smiled weakly. Reka wasn’t, the forest was the best place to practice, roam free without the chains of familial duties. Where she could release her potential as a skin walker.
While he was alone, Sebastian picked up the bear trap and held it in his hand carefully. He would discard of the thing rather than leave it for the owner to come back and set it up again. People are so fucken rude, he thought to himself. He didn’t understand how anyone could do this to animals. To hunt them, as if it was a fun sport. Assholes.
Just when Sebastian was about the leave, he heard the sound of rustling leaves and turned to look at the source of the sound. His eyes narrowed when he saw a young girl come out from where the bear had been a few moments ago. But... how? She could have gotten attacked by the bear... unless... The thought of what she could possibly be crossed his mind. Looking over her once she was standing before him, he could see the little signs of transformation. The dirt, sweat, and she even had blood. But what really stood out was how her eyes looked. They were just like the bears, in a way.
He just stared at her for a moment in disbelief. This was the first time he’d come across someone like him. In fact, someone that wasn’t human. Even though she was speaking, he ignored what she said and spoke. “You're a shapeshifter.”

He had beautiful eyes, and an overall nice face. His jaw was well-defined, chiselled out as if he was made of marble. She could now clearly see the sweat from his forehead. He either had been exercising in the forest, or too nervous when he encountered a brown bear. Perhaps both. Reka noticed the bear trap in his hands, biting back the urge to snarl. Instead she cleared her throat, harsh accusation on the tip of her tongue. But then he spoke. His voice snapping the lie that Reka thought she could’ve created. You’re a shapeshifter. Her sapphire eyes cut to his. She stepped closer, to get a better view of the boy. She observed him, trying to figure out how he got that declaration. But all she got was confused and bewildered eyes that stared back.
Those weren’t the eyes of a hunter, nor did they hold the look of a scared human. They hid something similar to her. “And you’re observant” she replied, blowing a curl away from her face. She stalked around the boy, getting closer enough to fully get his scent. She inhaled, noting the tinted taste of a different species. Not human. She stepped back. “So are you” she murmured, her eyebrows furrowing.
The only other shapeshifter she knew was her father and her grandfather. The shapeshifter scent was distinct, the delicate smell of fresh grass with sandalwood. The boy smelled it. Before Reka had smelled dog. Perhaps it was his go-to transformation, though that made the girl more curious. A shapeshifter had the luxury to transform to any animal…but…”Why a dog?” She uttered the thought aloud.
“Ugh... yeah.” He agreed as he watched her circle him, not sure what to think about that. He didn’t see why he should deny the truth, especially since he was the one that started. He wondered how she knew that he was one too. It wasn’t like he had any signs that gave him away like she had. Yet she still figured it out. Maybe it was because he knew she was one? But that part didn’t even bother him. What really bothered him was the next question.
His brows narrowed in confusion as he turned a little to follow her. “Wait... how did you know?” Unlike her, he wasn’t familiar with shapeshifters scent and how to tell what they transform to. I wonder who this girl is? Sebastian wondered. He’s never seen her before. She was very beautiful. Her blue eyes stood out in contrast with her dark brown. But what made her stand out was her ability to figure out these things about him.

Reka stopped her circling around the boy. She frowned, the crease between her brows deepened. In her mind she wondered if this boy had just found out he could shift or he was never thought about how a shifter’s senses could be honed to pick up anything: from recognising another shifter to figuring out if the milk had gone bad. Reka marched up to him, stopping before they were only millimetres apart. She didn’t fully respect the concept of personal space. “Your scent” she said plainly. As if it was the most obvious thing in the world. She met his eyes. He suits a dog, she thought, he had a cute pair of puppy eyes. “A shifter scent is impossible to miss” she added. “Here, smell me” Reka tilted her head, so that the wind could take hold of her aroma. But suddenly she wished she didn’t get this close to him. He definitely had a strong jawline. And his messed up hair…a mild crimson picked up on her cheeks.
She kneeled down to her backpack and pulled out a first aid kit. “Would you mind?” She asked, extending her bleeding wrist towards him. “I can answer any questions you’d like” she promised. “And I’m great company” she smirked.
“My scent? I didn’t even know shapeshifters had a scent.” He moved a little to smell his shoulder, seeing if he would pick up anything out of the ordinary. But he just picked up on his sweaty scent from running and slightly cringed at that. I need to wash up before going home. At the mention of smelling her, Sebastian just kind of froze, not sure if he should really do what she said. He decided against it for the moment.
“Yeah, of course.” Sebastian tells her when she asks for help. He moved closer and kneels down next to her. He then set the trap down on the floor before taking a hold of her first aid kit. He glanced up to her, looking at her through his lashes, and smiled. It was a good thing she gave him permission to ask, because he had a bunch. “How long have you been a shapeshifter? Do you know any other shapeshifters? Can you teach me to find the scent of one, too?” He started off with three for now, thinking that was already too much. After opening up the first aid kit, he removed the alcohol wipes and gently took a hold of her injured hand before he wiped at the blood.

Reka’s eyebrows moved up to her hairline. She wanted to sit down and explain everything but at the same time, even she had questions about shifting abilities. And she couldn’t ask her father. All her answers where thanks to mythology books, online blogs and trying to piece what was true or not, by herself. She wasn’t keen when she figured out that prolonged transformations left physical and mental characteristics in her human forms. One time she had to go through three whole days of school hiding her arms and covering her mouth to hide the rough fur and canines. The memory made her self consciously rub her arms to assure herself that smooth skin was there.
She laughed softly when the boy turned his head to smell himself. Though part of her was curious to his little knowledge of shifting, she found it incredibly cute how he acted. It was so pure, Reka never noticed that in people anymore. When he didn’t move to smell her, Reka shrugged to hide the awkardnesss she felt. Did she just ask him to smell her? What was she even thinking? This is what happens when parkour and running around lonely does to you she thought sarcastically.
She was grateful that the boy agreed to help her, she had the bandage wraps in her mouth while her hands tried to clean the wound. With a shy smile, she took the wrap away from her lips and held them in her hand. “Sorry…I just…not used the help” she murmured. Her eyes focused on his movements around her wound, how gentle he was being. Reka snarled at the alcoholic sting. Embarrassed, she coughed to hide the sound.
She lifted her head when he asked his questions. She pursed her lips to bite back the smile. He was holding back more. Reka remained quiet for a moment, gathering her thoughts before opening her lips to answer. “I was five when I discovered I could shift…” She bit her lip when she remembered her father’s anger. It was a day that completely changed everything. She thought her father would be proud, but instead he was disgusted. A girl shifter! he had yelled followed by a frightening laugh.
“I know two others; my father and grandfather but we rarely talk about the subject” Or at all. “And I can try to” she answered with a lopsided grin. “I’m Reka, by the way, or Professor Reka if I’m going to be teaching you” she joked.
Sebastian worked at her wound for a moment as he waited for her to answer him. He could see where the metal claws ripped into her skin and left nasty openings. He was careful when he wiped at them, moving ever so slightly. But when the alcohol came in contact with her wounds, he knew no matter how gentle he was, it was going to sting. He felt her tense a little in his hand and make a sound. “Sorry,” he mumbled but kept working. It was better to get this done with rather than wait and make her hurt for a longer period.
After wiping away the last of her blood, he quickly bandaged up her wrist before more blood could well up. All the while, he listened to her and her answers.
“Wow, at five?” He said as he brushed back his hair from his face before tying a knot. “So like... your born as one? I mean if your father and grandfather are one, too. You must be lucky that you have others like you in your life. I first turned when I was ten, and I had no one.” He tells her. He both meant he had no one like him to talk to about it, and he literally had no one in his life since he was an orphan. But he didn’t want to talk about that now.
When she introduced herself, Sebastian mentally kicked himself in the head for not having to give her his name earlier. He laughed at her joke and replied with a smile, “I’m Sebastian, and I’d love it if you would teach me.” He held her hand for a little longer before letting go.

She nodded at him. “Thank you” she whispered to him. Reka noticed his hand was still on hers, even after he’d finished fixing her up. Perhaps he was being cautious to make sure that a sudden release from her wrist wouldn’t cause her pain. She couldn’t help but curse at the heat that once again formed.
Reka began to pack up the first aid kit, being careful to not move the wrist more than it needed to. When she glanced back up, his hair that had fallen around his eyes was cleared and she was astonished at the eyes he hid. Reka thought her eyes were unique, but his were…She refocused and continued the task at hand. “Yeah, it was quite the discovery, to say the least” she smiled weakly. Lucky? She wanted to laugh. But instantly felt sick in her stomach for even thinking that. “No one?” She echoed his words. Reka’s eyes narrowed as she searched the boy, attempting to figure out his life herself. A pointless endeavour. Someone’s private life was secret for a reason, not even a whiff of scent or calculating gaze could fix that.
“What caused your transformation?” She asked. “How did you manage to…control it?” Reka grinned, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. “Sorry” she said. “I think you were the one who was asking questions. I just never met a shifter before, my age I mean” she confessed.
“But I’d be more than happy to see you again” Her eyes widened. “I mean, to teach you…shifter things” she stammered, with a less than confident laugh. Reka ran a hand through her hair. “Yeah, I’m a mess” she murmured mostly to herself.
Sebastian stood up once he was done caring to her wound, taking hold of the trap and holding onto it while stuffing his free hand into his pocket. With a shrug of his shoulders, he answered, “I don’t know to be honest. I was out playing when all of a sudden I was in so much pain.” He remembered back to the day he changed. He had been so afraid, so confused, and all alone as he said. He didn’t explain to her how he was alone like she asked, not wanting to talk about it.
Sebastian smirked as she stammered a bit. “Thanks. That means a lot, and I don’t think you're a mess.” He gives her a cheeky smile. “Maybe we can exchange numbers, to step up a time for us?” He suggested. He knew he wouldn’t always be able to reply to her if he was transformed into his owner's pet, but whenever he had the chance, he surely would. He pulled out his phone to give her.

When he stood, she remained sitting on the ground for a while longer, then followed suit as he began to speak. She nodded in understanding as he told her of his shifting experience. Reka didn’t remember pain in her first transformation, it was more like a thundering anger that shook her core. The only pain she felt was the aches from her bones and muscles afterwards. “Sometimes, it still hurts” she smirked, shrugging the backpack over her shoulder. Reka would need to transform if she wanted to make it home in time before her father. But her wrist sent a reminding jab of soreness. She couldn’t help but grimace.
Her eyes shot upwards to the phone stretched before her. She took it gently. “Yeah, I’m just a lazy high school graduate so I got loads to time to kill” she joked as she keyed in her number into his phone. Once she finished, she gave back his phone. “Although, I might’ve given you a false number” she said, a teasing glint in her eyes. “Guess you’ll have to hone your scent, dog-boy” Reka tapped her nose as she said this. She winked. “I’ll smell you later” she saluted. Then turned away, gathering every strength to transform into her bear. It was quick, painful but nothing that Reka would show to Sebastian. She wanted to make an adequate exit. With a roar and a lift of her injured paw, she galloped away through the forest. Reka waited until she was a few miles away to shift back to her human form, then hurry back home. Her wrist nursed under her.
After having to give Reka his phone and getting it back with her number in it, he smiled and said “I’ll find you if you did,” and he kind of meant that. Now that he knew her, he wanted to see her again, to talk to her and ask her a lot of things. So he didn’t care if he had a false number.
He laughed at the mysterious girl when she teased him and walked away. “I’ll try to!” He called out after he watched her transform. He shook his head at her, thinking of how she shouldn’t have done that. Once he was alone, he turned around, trap still in his hand, and started his run.

There was movement between the trees, a quick flash, and then there was nothing when Vee came to a stop. She was still, almost like a sculptor. Her eyes scanned the vegetation for any movement, and her ears were listening for any rustling. When she was in hunting mode, she was a whole other person. Never had she thought she would be like this, but she was, searching for her pray.
There was a scratch against the ground up ahead, and before she knew it, she was racing to it. Even though she was moving really fast, she was able to look at everything and notice even the smallest details. From the fly’s that lasted by her, to the falling of the leaf ten feet away.
Sometimes, she was truly amazed by what she has become, but she still loathed it all the time. She didn’t want to be a vampire. She hated what she was, what it makes her want. She didn’t want to hurt anyone, even though it was too late. She didn’t think she would ever forgive herself for what she did to Norman.
So here she was now, a few seconds later, with a white rabbit in her hands and her fangs plunged in it. Against her will, she sucked the life out of the small creature, it’s red blood dripping down her chin and on its white fur. When she was done, she just stayed there on the ground, kneeling. She laid the rabbit gently on the floor and stared at it. Tears welled up in her eyes at what she did. “I’m so sorry.” She whispers. Even though she didn’t want to hurt animals, she had to so she wouldn’t hurt her family, friends, or any other human. She would try to last as long as she could without feeding, but when she felt like she was going to lose control, she would find herself in these woods, just like now.

It might have taken him a couple months to adjust, but to Casper, it felt like decades. He oftentimes came to the woods as a way to escape, to cope with the foreign changes in his body that caused every fallen leaf that crushed under his foot to startle him and every bird call ring in his ear long after he heard them. As he walked down the forest trail his eyes searched for any movement in the vegetation, nervous about the possibility that he would be spotted by someone he knew.
His old friends knew he changed, but didn't know how. This is the way Casper wanted to keep it. He's been ignoring their calls and texts faithfully for about 4 years now. In their minds, he's just distanced himself, no longer wanting to be a part of their lives. And Casper was okay with that. He'd rather them view him as an asshole than a bloodthirsty monster. He'd rather anyone views him like that. He could pretend to be anything other than who he truly was. A vampire.
As his mind trailed off with thoughts of his past life his hands found it's way absentmindedly into his pockets. He hasn't fed in a while (the whole ordeal, though not as horrifying anymore, still makes him sick to his stomach). He wondered about where he'd find his next meal. He never tried the animal diet, usually his supply would be donated blood he stole from the hospital during his night shifts. That would have to wait another day. Turning the corner he laid eyes on something, no someone hunched over a flash of white. A girl?
When she looked up he saw the stream of red trickling down past her chin and dripping onto the forest floor. She was like him. He can tell that much. "Hey, is everything alright?" He called from a distance, now more curious than confused.
I should burry it... it’s the least that I could do. Vee thought to herself as she stared at the rabbit. The last time she went hunting, it was a baby beer that she attacked, and the guilt of letting it lay there dead eat at her for a whole week. Hopefully this would be different if she were to burry it, she thought. Maybe she wouldn’t feel as guilty if she didn’t let its body lay for some other animal pray on it.
Vee was lost in the empty feeling of what she did, that she didn’t even notice the sound of footsteps close by. It wasn’t until the intruder was standing before her that she looked up. Shit. Shit. Shit. He saw me. He found out! Vee started to panic.
She blinked a few times, causing the tears that she had to fall. Quickly, she brushed them away and tried to wipe away the blood that was on her lips and chin as if he wouldn’t notice it. “I-I... ugh.. yeah... I’m alright.” She stammered over her words, not sure how to fix this.
Oh god. Is he going to turn me in... he knows I’m a monster. What do I do? Damn it. Vee was freaking out, her panicked eyes looking from the guy to the trees, and then to the dead rabbit. “It’s... it's not what looks like.” She started to explain, not even sure that could save her now. She knew she had time to run, that he was still far from her. But she was too afraid, frozen in place like a deer in the headlights.

Her scurried response gained a dry chuckle and a raised eyebrow out of Casper. It was interesting to see her embarrased by something that came natural to their species. She was a vampire it was too obvious to tell. And yet he’d think she’d be more careful than to feed in broad daylight by a very popular trail. Crossing his arms he decided to indulge her. “I think it’s exactly what it looks like.” He laughed, surveying the damage.
“Poor Thumper didn’t stand a chance.” He looked over the rabbit, slowly approaching the pair, one dead and one wide eyed.
(short sorry!)
(It’s perfectly fine)
Vee’s brows narrowed in confusion. He was laughing? That wasn’t a reaction she suspected at all. She imagined more of a scream, maybe name-calling. Even him trying to escape. But instead, he was still standing there, telling her things that made it look like what he was seeing was normal. As if it was something he saw on the daily basis.
When he approached Vee, she finally was able to bring herself to move. She pushed herself off the floor and stood up. Vee took a small step back, kind of threatened by his presence. She knew she looked more threatening than him, with blood on her hands and face, but she couldn’t help but feel that way because of his reaction.
“Why aren’t you freaking out?” She finally asked, wanting to know what was going on. For a just a second, she thought of the possible chance that he was just like her, and so she asked. “Are you.... like me?” There was both hope and fear in her eyes. Hopeful that there was someone like her, and afraid if this turns in the wrong direction.

Casper truthfully has never met a vampire like him before. He has tried his hardest to distance himself from a lot of people, so encountering other supernaturals came once in a million. And judging from her reaction, it seemed like she hasn't either which was somewhat refreshing, and might he add -- just a tad bit comforting. No matter how much he wants to think he is adjusted to the new life he has to lead, every day feels way more different than before. 5 years is not enough time to fully feel adjusted in this new body of his.
Casper raised his hands at the sudden change in this girls body language. He wasn't the intimidating type and his sweater and jeans don't really scream Danger! so he could only come with the conclusion that she was shocked at his nonchalant behavior. Smiling at her in hopes of calming her down some, careful to not flaunt his sharp fang-like canines, he shrugged.
"I guess you could say that." He said finally. Thinking about what he just said and the way he worded it, he tried again "I'm sorry, I'm going to stop being so cryptic," offering his hand for a shake he continued "Casper Grey, a pleasure to meet your acquaintance. And you are?"
Vee watched him raise his hands as if to say he was not a threat, and maybe it did calm her a little, especially since she was thinking he was like her. After all, what could possibly go wrong? She could easily escape... well, if he was the same, he could easily follow her. So maybe things could go wrong.
However, when he said he was the same as her, in some way, any worry she had left was gone, especially when he introduced himself. Her flight mode was disregarded and instead of freaking about how she got caught, a million questions started to run through her mind. But she had to bite back her tongue to keep from asking him.
Looking at his outstretched hand, Vee started to move to shake it but slowed down when she found hers dirty with blood. “Ugh... sorry,” she said, pulling back before she could touch him. She raised her hand a bit as if that would explain to him why she hadn’t shaken his. “I don’t want to get you dirty. My name is Vee Sky,” she tells him. She wanted to kick herself in the head for how she was presented, knowing first impressions always mattered. He seemed well collected, clean, and friendly. While she was scattered all over the place, a mess, and had just been crying a few moments ago.
“This is embarrassing,” she mumbled to herself. “I’m normally not like this. I swear. I don’t feed much... so when I do... it kinda gets out of hand.” She gestured towards the rabbit as an example. Immediately wanting to know how long he’s been like her, Vee asked. “If you don’t mind me asking... but how long have you been y’know... a vampire.” The word still felt foreign to her.

This was the first time Casper was the one to be calm and collected in a supernatural environment. Any other time it would have been him who was scared panicked and confused. So he could really relate to how Vee was feeling at this very moment. And he pitied her he really did. When he first changed, he basically disappeared off the face of the earth, only returning when he was sure he could control himself in front of the public.
But, this begs the question: How long ago did Vee turn? What if it turns out she was just an older vampire than him and he matured way more rapidly than most? It sure did feel that way sometimes, though it was this year that he finally suppressed his urges to sink his fangs into anything with a pulse.
Yet, she asked the question before he got a chance to. He was glad that she calmed down some, for he felt like he was invading her personal space when he first encountered her. Looking around at the scene before him -- the dead rabbit and the blood still warm and dripping off of Vee's fingertips -- and couldn't help but think about how strange it was that everything felt extremely normal to him.
Well, at least as normal as it can get nowadays.
"Nice to meet you, Vee," He started shifting his weight from one foot to the other. "It's fine really, trust me this is not the weirdest thing I've seen. I wanna say I turned 5 years ago, though it seems like days and years blend together nowadays." Which is true. Every day seems mixed together in a jumble since he's lost the need to sleep. A Monday is the exact same thing as a Wednesday, and recently Casper hasn't even bothered checking the dates for it really never mattered. "Don't you think it'd be a good idea that we get out of here and get you cleaned up?"
Vee’s eyes widened at the given number. Five years? Five years? The amount both awed her and scared her. She was curious to know how time has passed for him. What changed for him. If anything went back to normal. How he fed himself. What he did for a living. There were so many things she wanted to know. But she was also scared because finding someone who’s been like that for five years made her realize this wasn’t just a dream, but reality.
Because silly Vee still thought this was all fake and that Norman would somehow come back to her one day.
When he assures her that the whole ordeal wasn’t in any embarrassing, but normal, she was able to feel better. It must have taken him a while to feel normal with something like this because she was still struggling to grasp that concept. In fact, she wasn’t even sure she wanted this to feel normal. All the killing. The blood. The loss. She didn’t think she could handle it for much longer really.
“Ugh.. yeah. Yeah, of course.” She said with a nod of her head. She wanted to get away from here and this horrible scene, and she wanted to wash away the intoxicating blood. The longer she smelt it, the more she craved it, even if she had already satisfied her thirst, and that made her hate herself even more. Not to mention she was sure she looked horrid with blood on her. “There’s a waterfall nearby, I can wash up there and then maybe we could go somewhere to talk.” She suggested, not sure if that would be okay with him first.

((sorry my first post kinda stinks lol))
Audrey had been vibrating with energy all day, from the moment she woke up to the sluggish hours spent in class. It didn't help that she had mountain upon mountains worth of work to tackle. As school had let out, Audrey stuffed her bag into the hands of her older brother and with a sweet smile, had ripped into her leopard self before any complaints could burst out of his mouth.
It was like a sigh of relief as she had shed her human form, stretching her tightly packed muscles into an elegant leap. As she ran through the thick of the forest, her nimbleness and youth fueled power were evident by how she controlled her body. The rippling of her strength moved with each pounce, with her glossy coat displaying her lean build. Audrey wasn't entirely sure where she was going, but she just knew she needed to be moving.
Being a werewolf and in a pack, it seemed reasonable that Hunter and his family lived in the woods. Not too deep, since their house, or cabin as some people like to call it, is next to a road the comes off a public one in town. But some people, and especially students in his school, found it a bit weird when they heard he lived in the woods. He couldn’t really explain to them that he was a werewolf and that his family and he preferred to be close to nature. Nor could he give them a fake excuse that seemed reasonable. To put it simply, he just told them that they already own the place and had no reason to move out. But even if he was given a reason to move out, he still wouldn’t take it. He really did enjoy the woods and liked waking up to the sight of nature. Maybe it was the wolf in him that liked it, or because he was a simple person.
The best part was if he ever felt like shifting into his wolf form or go hunting, all he had to do was step out of the door, like now. He had gone home right after school since he didn’t have to hang out with friends, which really didn’t happen much because he didn’t have too many friends. His parents were against the idea of making none werewolf friends, as much as he hated it. But it was okay for now because all he needed was to shift into the beast inside him and everything would be okay.
So after having to toss his school bag on his bed and change into a pair of sweatpants and a black t-shirt, Hunter made his way out of the his house and started to jog into the forest, deciding it was best to warm up like normal, even though he was eager to jump into the air and land on all four.

The sunlight was filtering through the leaves, the green canopy just breaking apart to allow sporadic rays flashing down. Audrey's eyes scanned the area before increasing her speed, the vibrant shards of yellow and umber vivacious and seemingly insatiable. Wind was whistling by her and everything muddled together in a confusion of her acceleration, but her heart was calm and her breathing controlled-- if Audrey could pinpoint specific moments of pure bliss, this would be one of them. She felt powerful, with her flourishing abilities having all the room in the world to expand and flaunt.
However, before Audrey could understand why, her paws grappled at the unforgiving slope of the ground as a boy came into her vision, casually jogging. She had been so focused on her run that she hadn't looked ahead. As her entire body whined in resistance, she lashed out at the nearby tree trunks to avoid crushing the man before her, claws sinking and muscles swelling from the overload. A low growl reverberated from her maw as she missed the boy and instead landed beside him, a dazed noise rather than one of aggression.
What was she to do now? He seemed so normal, though why he was in the middle of the forest, she couldn't answer. Regaining some type of composure, Audrey stood on all fours and flicked her tail as if to communicate her alertness while directing her attention on the man. She ever so slightly tensed, curious on how he'd react. Should she change into her human self? If he were to respond... poorly, she had her paws grounded that would allow her to lunge into quick action.
((Sorry. A holiday came up))
Hunters thoughts started to wonder as he jogged through the forest like he normally does. He thought over the past events of this month. Of all the assignments, of the New Years ball, the new year itself, but mostly, of Lena. The last he saw her was when they parted after the ball.... and the way they left was a little weird. He wondered if going with her in the first place was a mistake. He shouldn’t have taken her dare. Yet he did, and now he had to deal with the aftermath. He shook his head, thinking it was best not to think about it. Instead, he started to think of all the assignments he had now that school was back and everything else that came with it.
However, any concern of the American revolution and the taxing system left his mind when he heard a rustle and then a crash, causing him to come to a halt. “Shit!” He exclaimed, feeling like his heart was about to crawl up his throat, and not from running.
It took him a moment for his eyes to gather was before him, and what he found was not why he expected “What the fuck?” He stared in confusion. Just a few feet from him stood a leopard, and despite being a werewolf, he found that very weird for him. He shook a few cautious steps backward, and then it clicked. “Are you.... a shapeshifter?”

((whaa don't apologize, i got too excited lol))
The complete bewilderment that took ahold of the boy's face almost brought a laugh to Audrey's lips. Though she couldn't blame him, considering her intense entrance. Gradually morphing back into her human self, the yellow and brown fur eventually shifting into long brown locks atop a head of a girl, dressed in a hoodie and leggings. The muscle memory of her shifts had worked their way deep into her body that the quick stretches that took place after her morph was already almost done. When she had first started out, crying was a simple part of the routine as her skin and bones either ripped or snapped apart. Now though, Audrey stood rather comfortably, facing the boy with her hands sheepishly held behind her.
"Yeah," She began, her voice just a bit muffled from her mouth being pressed down into her hoodie, "I wasn't exactly expecting you on my run. Sorry about that."
The lame answer almost made her want to continue burying her face into the oversized sweatshirt, but she forced herself to look up at the stranger. Mother always said it was rude to not look people in the eye. She always got this scolding when meeting new people. It was the unfamiliarity and unpredictability about a stranger that made her bite her tongue and dial back her usual exuberant nature. It was taking quite a lot to not make a joke about his facial expression when she almost ran into him; the wide "o" of his mouth, or how his eyebrows seemed to disappear into his hairline.
She bounced on her paws, roaring with delight. She started to run across the forest, the leaves breaking at her harsh strides. Stopping by a weak tree, she stood on her hind feet. With a slash of her paw, she injured the innocent bark. One wasn’t enough. She continued until the strain of balancing on her hind feet got to her. Reka, satisfied, turned away, her head held high. The tree groaned, and swayed at the wind. It was going to fall and she didn’t know it.
The wind picked up, and the tree groaned again. A clacking of branches and the tree made it way downwards, to where gravity intended. On top of Reka. She turned, glancing at the lumbering object heading her way. She gasped, kicking her paws up to go for a run, but suddenly got caught in a bear trap. She roared in pain, going down. Who was the stupid ass that placed this here? she thought as the pain bit into her bone.
