Some of these are even by women of color!

I read that Bluebird Bluebird by Attica Locke won some award, and she's a WOC.. I'll probably go for that one. Stone Sky is tempting, but I haven't read the rest of the trilogy yet

Home Fire by Kamila Shamsie won the Women’s Prize for Fiction in 2018.

Home Fire is the other one I'm considering!

Washington Black by Esi Edugyan (a woman of color) won Canada's prestigious Scotiabank Giller Prize for 2018.

- A comic by an LGBTQIA creator

- A children’s or middle grade book (not YA) that has won a diversity award since 2009: The book is an ALA Rainbow book, which is one of the listed awards/accolades Book Riot linked for this task.

I got my copy from Forbidden Planet Glasgow - they have occasional girls-only nights called She Reads Comics, during which the shop offers a 20% discount on everything. 😁

Better yet, it's reduced by 25% on Book Depository just now.

Bluebird, Bluebird won an Edgar Award for best novel, and I think I'm going to read that one for this challenge. I feel the same way about Stone Sky.

Thank you all for the suggestions! I'm going to cross Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body off my TBR list for this task.

The Stone Sky by N.K. Jemison won the Hugo in 2018 for best novel. It is a third in series but I have been meaning to to get into it anyway so this is a great reason to start! She has won back to back with each of her novels in this series sooo I can’t wait.

I'm planning to read Flights by Olga Takarczuk, which also counts as a translated book written/translated by a woman
