Annabeth is so great. I wish people would stop hating on her. If you're looking at this, and dislike her, PLZ tell me why.

I love her! I guess it's just she is sometimes harsh and mean to Rachel, but to all the haters she is just very territorial and very protective! She has had a hard life! She had to run away from home when she was just SEVEN! Her and her father had a rough relationship (not anymore) and she was treated like a freak with her step-mother and when monsters came they all blamed her for it even though she couldnt help it that she was a demigod! Then Luke the person she trusted betrayed her and after that when she starts to like Percy Rachel comes along and then after that he goes missing! So she has her reasons but after all that she STILL REMAINS STRONG! SO SHE IS AMAZING!!!

At least Annabeth knew Percy for 5 years, whereas Piper only knew Jason for 5 minutes before obsessing over him. XD

I like Annabeth, but some people just like certain characters whereas others don't. Like, I've heard some people don't like Leo, yet I like him. It just depends on the person, don't take their hate personally or anything; it's just their opinion :)

I love Annabeth. She is smart and strong. I think that the season some hate her is because they think she is whiny about Percy. I say they use double standards. 90 percent of Y A books feature whiny possessive and bird brained girls. They are adored, but Annabeth is not.

@shahdia I don't think there's anything wrong in discussing your opinions on a character.

I wasn't going to comment until I saw this. I really want to discuss this quickly, because it's comparing books. However, that is greatly mistaken, because we should compare books and characters on separate scales. We should rate them on what the author intended to achieve. With HoO, Rick wanted Annabeth to be a strong character, but that is compromised by her Percy obsession as whoever said it said. Most YA novels, romance and contemporary novels in particularly set out to not have their characters be so strong and maybe even a bit whiny, so I find them okay.

Now on topic, if you're still with me after that long rant-y I don't even know thing. I really like Annabeth, but I've heard people say that she's really conceited, overly dramatic and condescending to other people and she only hates Rachel because she has a crush on the same person Rachel has a crush on. Some people have said that she seems really perfect (Intelligent, kick-butt fighter and she dates a son of the big 3) and her only flaw is just written down on paper. Quite a few people have actually said that she's ugly, which I find completely ridiculous, but hey it's their life, not mine. However, there are also people that hate her because she's drop-dead gorgeous? Lots of people have also said that her intelligence and wisdom are more tell than show. And many others have said that she's just not that special and a Mary-Sue.

People have their opinions. I mean, I don't like Jason or Piper AT ALL ((so much that I wanna strangle them)) and I HATE it when people get mad at me because of that and because I want every single character to be single. Like, there was one person who actually called me dumb. I really don't care what people say about the characters, because it gives me a new point of view. Just, no hating on real people and being a bully. It's a pain. Trust me: I know.

I think that the "Annabeth-Haters" are really brave and I admire them for that. I am an anti-Caleo, so I kind of know how they feel when people are mad at them.

Yup. I'm also anti-Every-Single-Couple. Riordan has a habit of pairing up every single character and it gets annoying sometimes.

I definitely don't like Annabeth! In fact, I hate her, and never will stop hating her! Here are a few reasons why:

She doesn't deserve Percy, AT ALL. Percy is all about helping his friends - in fact, it's his fatal flaw. Old Bananabreath here, (that's my nickname for Annabeth), her fatal flaw is pride. She's selfish, self-absorbed, vain, acts like she's better than everyone else, and pretty much is just a pompous prat. All she cares about is Percy, and her pride. She doesn't care about anyone else, and wasn't the least bit sad that Leo was gone. How selfish is that? She always prefers Percy to everyone else, and doesn't seem to like anyone else but Percy. And honestly, their love just seems so unreal. They're horribly incompatible. Percy gave up immortality for her, and fell into Tartarus, but I'm really not sure it would be the other way around. She's terribly quick to judge, and just doesn't give a care to anyone else but Percy and her. She hates Rachel, even though she flew a helicopter into the Battle of Manhattan, just because Percy likes her. She doesn't really have any special powers, and despite saying that her special power is her brain, it really isn't anything extraordinary. Bananabreath has a brain. Wow - shocking. So does everyone else. She constantly reminds herself that she's "a child of Athena" which to me, seems like an excuse for old Bananabreath to act like the selfish, vain, stupid, horrible prat she is. She claims she's smart, but really, she hasn't done anything brilliant except provide random facts about stuff, which anyone could have googled up. Percy is so sweet and cares about his friends and family, while Bananabreath cares about no one but herself. Honestly, I wish Rick threw her into Tartarus alone, or maybe killed her off. But I supposed every serious has to have the selfish character with the awful personality. A lot of you might think, "How can you hate Bananabreath?". But honestly, I'm asking myself, "How can you NOT hate Bananabreath?"

I actually agree with Snow Queen. After Percy saved her from the Fates (The Lightning Thief), Rescuing her from Atlas (The Titan's Curse), Helped her with Hera (Battle of the Labyrinth), told her his Achille's heel (The Last Olympian), and gave up immortality for her (The Last Olympian), all she says when Percy told her his Achille's heel, she said he owes her... Like, he has done so many things for you and you still say he owes you? Or it's just that the fanfictions of her betraying Percy (being a traitor, went for another guy) just got to me.

she is just so likable and smart and its kinda mean to say she's to bossy. so is piper! piper is more body and i don't see any "why does everyone hate piper" things. the only difference is piper is beautiful and needs jason or percy or leo to save her. annabeth saves herself. so there. if you think this is wrong respond now and i will answer

I love annabeth, she's smart, and frigging hot. BUT it's annoying how she always judges other characters- e.g Tyson, Rachel, and POOR BOB, am i the only one who clocked the instant mistrust. However i'd like to point out that this is kind of necessary. She's a child of Athena, caution is in her GENES, no battle strategist give's away their trust that easily. Also it's kind of her fatal flaw, her pride and the fact that sometimes she's quick to draw conclusions. Lets not forget how vengeful Athena can be, she's a war goddess and well Annabeth would wage a war for Percy. #sozrachel. Also Annabeth and Percy are two halves of a whole, Percy is open and trusting which makes him a great hero, but sadly we can't all afford to be like that.

K, that was my cousins explanation on here. And I have to say I agree with her. You have to remember that Annabeth when she judges people is trying to protect herself and her friends and when you fall in Tarturus of course you wouldn't trust a giant wielding a broom so quickly. (I love Bob though RIP Bob). And yeah, of course she knows a lot more than other people and she doesn't just have the book smarts you were describing even though those are still cool- she thinks on her feet. She has the ability of strategy and maybe that's not control over an element like water, but it's still pretty cool to have a strategy or two in your head. I think Percy and Annabeth go perfectly together because all of their flaws connect. Annabeth is smart and does taking a little more to trust people, true, but again, that's part of being a daughter of Athena. And when you said she's vain... just wow. When has she ever been vain? Like literally, if you can get a scene where she is please tell me. And keep in mind, this is a teenage girl. And how do you know that she didn't care about Leo? A lot of this is just your won assumptions that you try to make sound like facts. But I respect your opinion so... I'm not going to call u a jerk or anything. We all have our own reasons but maybe this has changed your mind :)
