1. An epistolary novel or collection of letters: Daddy-Long-Legs DONE and I enjoyed this gentle, heart-warming book very much.

2. An alternate history novel: The Man in the High Castle DONE and I loved the concept but the plotlines were frustrating.

3. A book by a woman and/or AOC (Author of Color) that won a literary award in 2018: Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body. DONE and the book was raw and thought-provoking. This book won the 2018 Lambda Literary Award for Bisexual Nonfiction.

4. A humor book: Going Into Town: A Love Letter to New York DONE and this was so much fun. Roz Chast is amazing. Brought back fond memories of my 6 years living in NYC.

5. A book by a journalist or about journalism: Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century DONE and this was an incredible read about the dystopian economy we live in.

6. A book by an AOC set in or about space: Hidden Figures DONE and this was an interesting read.

7. An #ownvoices book set in Mexico or Central America: The Wild Book DONE The concept of this book is irresistible for book lovers. I enjoyed it but the plot lost me a few times.

8. An #ownvoices book set in Oceania: The Dharma Punks DONE and this graphic novel was a quick and interesting read.

9. A book published prior to January 1, 2019, with fewer than 100 reviews on Goodreads: The Wisdom of Frugality: Why Less Is More - More or LessDONE. I really enjoyed this philosophical but highly readable meditation on frugality and simple living.

10. A translated book written by and/or translated by a woman: Convenience Store Woman DONE and this was a quick and very enjoyable novella. Fits the challenge because it is translated from Japanese and both author and translator are women.

11. A book of manga: The Life-Changing Manga of Tidying Up: A Magical Story DONE and it was a quick and enjoyable read. Also, a good refresher on tidying!

12. A book in which an animal or inanimate object is a point-of-view character: Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH DONE and I enjoyed this wholesome story with sci fi features.

13. A book by or about someone that identifies as neurodiverse: Rubbernecker DONE and this was a murder mystery that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

14. A cozy mystery: The Nature of the Beast DONE. This was a satisfying read, cozy but quite intense.

15. A book of mythology or folklore: Myth Atlas: Maps and Monsters, Heroes and Gods from Twelve Mythological Worlds DONE. This coffee table style book is entertaining, informative and quite simply eye candy.

16. An historical romance by an AOC: The Twentieth Wife DONE and I had mixed feelings about this book although it is beautifully written.

17. A business book: How Star Wars Conquered the Universe: The Past, Present, and Future of a Multibillion Dollar Franchise DONE and this was a fun read about the movie and franchising business. Lots of great tidbits for Star Wars fans.

18. A novel by a trans or nonbinary author: George DONE and I thought it was a good book, if a little boring.

19. A book of nonviolent true crime: Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup DONE and I highly recommend this book. The nonviolent true crime is corporate fraud.

20. A book written in prison: Couldn't Keep it to Myself: Wally Lamb and the Women of York Correctional Institution This was an amazing read- women inmates write short memoirs of their early lives. Writing as therapy.

21. A comic by an LGBTQIA creator: Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic. DONE and I highly recommend this graphic memoir. An honest memoir of the author's relationship with her distant father. A reminder of how we cannot escape our childhood experiences.

22. A children’s or middle grade book (not YA) that has won a diversity award since 2009: Emmanuel's Dream: The True Story of Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah DONE and highly recommended. The diversity award is the Schneider Family book award in 2016, The Schneider Family Book Awards honor an author or illustrator for a book that embodies an artistic expression of the disability experience for child and adolescent audiences.

23. A self-published book: The Martian DONE and I loved this smart, science-forward, realistic sci-fi book. From Wikipedia: "Weir decided to put the book online in serial format one chapter at a time for free at his website." Then he self-published it as a 99 cent Kindle download. After it became a success, he sold the print rights to a publisher.

24. A collection of poetry published since 2014: American Journal: Fifty Poems for Our Time DONE and while poetry isn't my thing, this slim volume had some poems that gave me all the feels.
