VAMPIRES DON'T SPARKLE discussion

Well, so far Dracul has been a huge success winning critical acclaim and being nominated for awards, etc....so it comes as no surprise that Paramount Pictures has obtained the rights to turn the novel into a film. The movie will be directed by Andy Muschietti, director of IT along with that film's producers working on the project as well.

I'm very excited about this! It's been a long time since we've seen a good Dracula movie. I wonder what actors they'll cast, and when it'll come out (hopefully soon!!!). I enjoyed IT very much so expect nothing but good things from the Dracul movie.

Interesting. I read his Dracula: The Undead and thought it was deeply, deeply mediocre. Maybe he acquired a better editor since then.

I've yet to read the book but it's on my tbr list. I'll get there eventually! Great to be able to look forward to a new Dracula movie, though. I also loved IT so hopefully this film should be an equally well created version.

Yeah, Dracula The Undead was disappointing. It seems this one makes up for it though.

In interviews they've both said that Dacre Stoker provided the research and JD Barker did the actual writing. I've read all of Barker's other books and they're fantastic. I couldn't find anything else written by Ian Holt (co-author on Dracula: The undead).

That's kind of dissapointing cause I thought that Dacre had stepped his game up a bit, however researching Bram Stoker's notes at that museum in Philly is no picnic, so I guess that counts as writing. Ian Holt is a screenwriter, so that's why you were not able to find anything by him. If what you say is true, J.D. Barker is an awesome storyteller, I'll have to check out his other stuff.
