Michelle Lane (mbailey13) | 6 comments I ended up really enjoying this book. It took me awhile to really get in to it and seemed to start out slow. I was also confused for the first 1/3 of the book trying to follow when they were in real life and when they were in the OASIS. Once it picked up for me, I couldn't put it down. Ending was pretty predictable though. It was fun reading about old video games and arcades from when I was a kid. I gave it 4 stars and am looking forward to watching the movie now. I wanted to wait until I had read the book to watch the movie.

Sue | 2718 comments I loved this book - and loved the movie too. It doesn't always work out that way for me, so I was happy to really enjoy the book.

Karin | 9216 comments Yes, 4 stars is what I rated it as well. It's y/a, so predicable ending was a plus--it's one of the things I go for when reading y/a.

Susie I loved this book. It was my first audiobook and it was so well done. It kickstarted what I believe will be a lifetime love of audiobooks, and it is all thanks to the encouragement of PBT members. I was so disappointed with the movie.

KateNZ | 4100 comments A fave book of mine too - I made the mistake of starting it at bedtime and was still there at three in the morning :) So much fun!

I thought the movie was generally ok (though only ok) once I stopped expecting it to be the book - I still don’t know why they changed certain elements though.

Susie Me too Kate, although I can see that it would be impossible to include all of the elements of the book. I built it up too much for my husband too, so he was deflated when it was just average.

Charlotte | 1701 comments I loved the book too! I was disappointed in the movie... not a fan. I understand why they changed the things that they did, but it frustrated me. There were so many cool things in the book that were super geeky and came from my childhood but the movie changed a lot of that. I understand some of it was so the larger population could relate and some for time purposes but it still frustrated me.

I loved, loved, loved this book and I'm so glad that you enjoyed it too!

Michelle Lane (mbailey13) | 6 comments Ok after watching the movie, I agree with the rest of you. The book was WAY better. I usually think the book is better anyways but this is one that I think strayed too far from the book. For a long movie I think they left out too much or changed too much to stay true to the book.

Amy | 12915 comments My middle son just started Ready Player One. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. He actually ended up liking the hunger games a lot. So there is slight hope.
