Challenges F.A.Q

Hi Corinne!
There are several ways to check if a book is New Adult or not. For example, on the main page of every book, you can find a section called “Genres” on the right hand side. If you click on “See top shelves”, you will be redirected to a page with all the key words that identify that specific book. If a book is classified as new adult, it’s usually shown on the “top shelves” section.
A book is also usually considered New Adult when the main characters have an age between 18 and 25 (sometimes the age is stretched up to 30 years old).
If you have any doubt about a book being considered new adult or not, you can post it here in the Q&A section, and I will help you.
If you need ideas to get you started, you can also check our Booklists section, where you’ll find lists of new adult books organized in sub-cathegories: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
If you have more question, please feel free to ask!

Hi Phoenix! Yes, you can totally upgrade your level any time during the challenge! You can also downgrade it if you realize you will not be able to achieve your initial goal!

Hi Kay! Thanks for joining :)
Yes, absolutely, you can change the books you've selected as many times as you want! You can switch books or even decide that you no longer want to read a book that you had chosen for a task and replace it with another one.
You can make all the changes you want, until you complete the challenge. When you're done with all the task, just post a message letting me know that you've completed the challenge and from that moment you will not be able to make changes because I need to verify it.

One way to find your post quickly, is to search for your name on the challenge thread, using the classic searching method. All you have to do is press Ctrl + F (for Windows) or ⌘ Command + F (for Mac), type your username and then press "search".
An alternative, which is also probably the easiest and quickest way to find your post, is to save the link of your post in your "favorites" web sites. To find your post's link, you just have to click on the time/date at the top right of your comment and copy the link (see picture below)

I did it for you, so this should be the direct link to your post:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/.... Just save this link to your favorites and you'll be able to locate your comment immediately, just clicking on the link!
Please let me know in case it's not working :)

Hi Jennifer!
No, you can read the books in any order you want!

Hello Vanessa :)
If you choose the Hard Level, you need to do 2 out of the 3 prompts for each letter (52 books in total)
If you go for the Insane Level, then you need to read one book for each prompt (78 books in total)

Can I list it for the Alpha Challenge? Thanks!

Hi Vera!
Re-reads are not allowed, unless stated.
However, one of the prompts for the letter R is RE-READ: Read a book that you’ve already read before, therefore you could use "Dragon't Lair" for this prompt.
If you need ideas for the "alpha" category just let me know and I'll try to give you a list of suitable books :)

Thank you!

I'm making a possible reading list and I can't find an award-winning book for the "POPULAR" category.
Thanks for the help!

Hey Vera!
There are many different awards that are books related. A couple that come to my mind are the RITA Award, which is the most famous award given to romance fiction and the Goodreads Choice Awards.
Anyway, here's a short list of New Adult award winning books I've come up with. I hope you'll find one you like!

Hi Katlyn!
You can check our Bad Boys Booklist here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
You'll find plenty of New Adult books tagged "alpha", "alpha-male" or "alpha-hero".
If you need any help with that, just let me know :)

Hi Henna Sarah!
MC stands for Main Character, so it could be both the hero or the heroine (if not specified otherwise).
You can edit your original post as your challenge progresses.
Just write a new comment once you've completed all the prompts for your level :)

Hi 2kasmom!
Only the prompt "NEW" (Read a book published in 2019) states that that specific book must be published in 2019.

The cover pictures will not paste for me. I have tried copying and pasting in my original post. I have tried editing and adding that way. They just don't show up for me. What am I doing wrong?

Let me know if you need more help :)

Hi Henna Sarah! As long as the books are New Adult and you read them in 2019, they count for the Yearly Challenge. So, the books that you read during our monthly challenges can also count for the Yearly Challenge.

I recently read a few books which I am unsure would be considered NA. One of them was The Wicked King

The top shelves don't list NA but the book contained some mature scenes between the main characters so I'm not sure if it counts towards the yearly challenge.

Hi! I've checked

So my answer is YES, you can use The Wicked King for our challenge :)

Hi! I've checked

Alright, thanks for the help!!

Hi Ashley! Sorry for the delay :)
I've added you to the participants list!
Please let me know if you need anything else :)

Does one of main characters have to be a vampire? I just read a book with some secondary characters, who appear in every chapter and they are a vampire. Is that book good?

Hi Hanne! Yes, the book you just read is good for the task, since there is a vampire in the story

Hi Antonella,
I'm glad you enjoy our challenges!!
Luna and the Lie is tagged both as "new adult" (the heroine is in her mid-twenties) and "age-gap", so you could totally use it for the task, as long as you read the book in 2019.
Other age-gap NA books that come to my mind are:
