Gaiman is hit or miss for me but I own this one and Norse Mythology. Hoping to get to both this year.

I am a huge Gaiman fan, so that man can do no wrong for me .... but Ocean at the End of the Lane and Norse Mythology are very different from each other. I personally liked Norse Mythology better. I believe (this is just me, he never said that) that Norse Mythology stems from his notes he took for writing American Gods. My favorite Gaiman book is Neverwhere and I will tell anyone and recommend it to everyone!

Oh I haven't read that one yet! I really liked Stardust, I liked Coraline, and I hated American Gods. But I think I'll give it another try. I haven't started watching the show for that purpose. I liked Trigger Warnings, his short stories are good.

I thought it was very interesting. Strange to the point of being indescribable, but I enjoyed it. I listened to the audio-book which he narrates and he has a lovely reading voice.

He does have a wonderful voice! But I can only listen with earbuds because he's too quiet for my car or Echo. lol

Ohhh, I never considered that. I listen to him mostly on my laptop while working. I do have the volume up come to think of it.

Oh, you're right, he is a bit soft spoken!

I will have to add that one to my TBR! Sounds interesting.

If T. doesn't mind books about girls (ewww!), and he enjoyed Judy Moody, he/you would love the Junie B. Jones books. When D. was reading those, I was crying so hard, they were so funny. First book is Junie B. Jones and the Stinky Smelly School Bus.

When I was a nanny I religiously read the Junie B. Joones books with my girls! Their brother pretended to not be interested but we oh so know he was!

He said his teacher is reading Junie B. Jones and he really likes it! I'm really excited I might get to share those with him.

That might be my worst case scenario when you're totally into the book and then the ending is disappointing.

Both are such great books! Very different, but both awesome. Neverwhere is absolutely amazing Elyse and right in your wheelhouse I think! I too hated American Gods and have not hated ANYTHING of his since, so that is a bonus. ;-)

Thanks Dawn Michelle! I just picked up Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch at the library to read before the show starts!

I loved American Gods .... it's to me a quintessential American novel like Faulkner or McCarthy but written by a Brit - which is ironic.
