Kul Girl | 4 comments This is a historical romance most probably set during war of roses time period. It is part of a series i believe as the Hh are introduced in one book as children. They become chikdhood friends and secretly love each other but the H works for the family so knew its not right. As they grow up the H becomes a famed knight and leader and much sought after. The series is based on finding a true heir for the england kingdom. As the story unfolds and Hh fall in love as adults, she finds a tattoo / mark on his shoulder that he had as a kid. She solves the mystery only to find he is in truth of royal blood and a true heir tomthe throne. There is a lot of mystery and intrigue in the story and in the end there is a scene where thye pledge to the current king that H will not contest him in exkchange for being abke to live a normal life. The tattoo is mostly a rose / flower that identifies all royal kids. I have been looking for this book for soemtime now and would really like any help in locating it. Thank you!

Edit - The tattoo is actually a sign branded on the baby shaped like a flower.

Caroline (carolineadair) | 116 comments That reminds me of The Black Knight by Connie Mason. I don't remember the tattoo, but I read a great many books. It's worth a look.

BookLuva28 | 65 comments I could be dead wrong, but what about A Shield Of Roses? I haven't read it yet, but it is a series based on the key elements you mentioned above: knight, rose, etc.

I don't know if the guess is right, but I'm all for reading this book next! Right now I'm still on Dynasty of Desire and sweet baby jebus, this book is MESSED UP. Women are gang-raped by midgets, there is incest and then more incest. There are castles with creepy barons, and did I mention the midgets show up again? There are fires, plastic surgery and if that's not enough, there's even a secret baby.

And I haven't even finished it yet.

Thank you for your reply, but I think its not the book, this book was last in the series and the one you mentioned is the first. Also as I mentioned they are childhood sweethearts. I did check it out the synopsis and it looks like a great read till I find the original one!
Thank you again for replying.

JennyG | 174 comments How old is the book? From the 70s, 80s, 90s, or post 2000?

Read on Kindle or as paperback?

Do you remember the book-cover?

Gina Johnston | 1 comments Hi
I’m looking for a book (duh). I really want to read it again. Went through my kindle library and can’t find it.

I read it on kindle around 2014.
I think it was published around 2000/2014.
Takes place during William the conqueror I think

When she was younger he witnesses him and his mistress having sex in a lake.

Years later, he comes to her home to bargain a betrothal with her father. But us in fact spying for his king.

She lives with her father, brother and uncles.
One of her uncle dresses as a woman and pretends he’s gone mad.

Oh, and his sister is blind and is a nun at a convent.

He gets caught and tortured, she runs away and her family pursues them.

That’s all I can remember.
Can you help me?
