Chapter 5: (view spoiler)[I don't understand why they keep telling Scout that she’s acting like a little girl since she is one. Isn’t sexism fantastic? I find the town culture so interesting but it’s heartbreaking to see all these kids in poverty. I can’t wait to find out what’s up with the neighbor. Also, the other thing I don’t understand is why the teacher is so upset that Atticus taught Scout how to read. If I was a teacher, I would be like, one down, twenty-six to go lol. (hide spoiler)]

Well, I haven't started it. I will start it next week, maybe. And if you're starting tomorrow, there're no way you can catch up to me cuz I'll be waaaayy behind than you are (it's like you're aiming for negative numbers on a number line)

Can I tentatively join this one? It wasn't really on my reading list for this month, but it's one of the novels I wanted to reread before the AP test in May, and it's a good time as any to start preparing. I'm in the middle of a few other things right now but I think I could squeeze it in.

Middle of Chapter 14: (view spoiler)[ I really love Atticus' conversations with Scout and I really liked about what he was saying about that in order to have a clean conscience he needed to help that man and it doesn't matter what other people think. (hide spoiler)]

This weekend for sure, lol.
I just got stuck with some assignments. Haha!

I started the book. Read the first few pages but it was all going over my head. So I stopped. I'll try again tomorrow and maybe I' will be more intelligent by that time and understand it.

Ah, the first few pages really are confusing. I have read the book before so I know. But don't worry—give it time. Re-read those pages and soon you will get the hang of it. :)

Chapter 17 (view spoiler)[ This is definitely a slow burn but it’s definitely intensifying. I’m really interested to see how the trial goes.

Also, my copy is really old and the front cover has fallen off, part of the back cover also, and the spine is about to split in half so fingers crossed it makes theough me reading it. 🤞🏻 (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[ Oh, I an so glad I read this. The plot came full circle even and I have the wonderful warm, fuzzy feeling of having read a well told story. I definitely understand why it is such a beloved classic and why it is required in most American schools. (hide spoiler)]

25% (view spoiler)[I’m enjoying this so far but I do see the racist hints from that time period. The kids are a bit naive tho that teacher is annoying. Saying scout has been taught to read wrong like okay 😒🧐 Atticus seems okay so far too. I’m ready to start the trial. (hide spoiler)]

50% (view spoiler)[poor mrs Dubose. Now that I’ve reread that part I do remember it from the first time around. I think the trial should start soon too. There are still some things that don’t quite add up but I’m enjoying this. (hide spoiler)]

75% ish. (view spoiler)[Ugh this is so sad. I know how this is going to end and it makes me so frustrated. There’s no way Tom beat or raped that girl and everyone knows it. All they care is that he’s black and she’s white. This is just so horrible. (hide spoiler)]
