This seems very interesting. I might have to add that to my audiobook list - I tend to do better with nonfiction when someone reads it to me.

Annie | 424 comments 5. The Clockmaker's Daughter by Kate Morton. I enjoyed reading this one. The story had a sort of abstractness about it that worked for me.

I've only read one Morton book so far and enjoyed it but they are heavy! Maybe I'll get to another one this year.

Lol! That's such wonderful news! I need to post a review on NetGalley but whenever I sit down to think and write, I find myself chuckling again over Flavia's antics. What other character could such joy to your day?!

Annie | 424 comments 14. The Monk of Mokha by Dave Eggers. Read this with a book group - would not have been a book I would normally pick up but so glad I read it!

message 29: by Annie (new)

Annie | 424 comments 15. Time After Time by Lisa Grunwald. The fact that this book's setting is New York City's Grand Central Terminal certainly piqued my interest! Add in such wonderful historical facts dispersed throughout the story and it will appeal to any historical fiction fan. I was, however, unprepared to be so swept up in Joe and Nora's story! This was a book that I did not want to put down, nor did I want it to come to an end. Well done!

Thank you to NetGalley, Random House, and Lisa Grunwald for the opportunity to read an advance reader copy of this novel.

You know, the book description didn't grab me at first but once I started reading I didn't want to stop. I had to see how the story of these families played out!

Elyse, I'd suggest reading the pb since you have a copy. The formatting on the NG ebook was off. Enjoy!

Annie | 424 comments 22. The Long Flight Home by Alan Hlad. Based on true events, The Long Flight Home by Alan Hlad is an historical fiction lover's delight! The focus on homing pigeons used during WWII is a fresh and fascinating subject. I also appreciated Hlad's depth of research into the London Blitz. This debut novel is very well written and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Thank you to NetGalley, Alan Hlad, and Kensington Books for providing me with the opportunity to read and comment on this book. I've already added a hard cover copy to my personal library! Looking forward to sharing this story with friends and family.
