Some recommendations:

We Are Displaced: My Journey and Stories from Refugee Girls Around the World by Malala Yousafzai (children/middle grade)
The Gilded Wolves - Roshani Chokshi (teen/adult)
Slayer - Kiersten White (teen/adult)
Winter of the Witch - Katherine Arden (teen/adult)
The Paragon Hotel - Lyndsay Faye (adult)

Nikki (mnnikki) | 164 comments I just finished, and would recommend, The Moment of Lift: How Empowering Women Changes the World by Melinda Gates. I really enjoyed her personal stories (both of struggles and successes) and felt that this book was a good reminder to me of the privilege I was born into and still benefit from today.

sara (sarasara) | 33 comments I read We Went to the Woods by Caite Dolan-Leache. It was published in July 2019, and I randomly chose it from the shelf at the library. This book has SO much potential, but I thought the writing wasn’t so wonderful.
