StarMan (thestarman) | 1942 comments Got an idea for a good quarterly (approximately 3 month) read for the Book Snails in 2019? Let us know by suggesting a book here.

You can nominate any book that you've been meaning to get around to. Or suggest one that you think would make a nice slower group read.

(suggested length 225-500 pages, but we won't hold you to that!)

Quarterly nominations do not have to be "longer" books, but this is a good chance to suggest one that's a bit longer, more intense/serious, or just different in some way.

StarMan (thestarman) | 1942 comments I think we have enough for a poll, but keep any suggestions coming :)

If any of you awesome Snail co-Moderators wants to try your hand (um, pseudopod?) at a Quarterly Book Poll soon, go for it! (Let us know here, so we don't get more than one Mod working on it).

I suggest making 'Write In Votes' an option, and giving everyone at least 10 days to vote).

You can see one of the previous Quarterly polls at
https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1... )

And here's a lovely snail, for no reason:

Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit - from the reviews this seems like a real love or dislike kind of book. It's an out of the closet, back in and out again YA love story.

I have a random genre selector and it chose canadian-literature, link below, so I am going to pick 3 from this list. https://www.goodreads.com/genres/cana...
Hag-Seed - Margaret Atwood's retelling of Macbeth. Need I say more?
Moon of the Crusted Snow - A post apocalyptic First Nation book! I will be buying this one no matter what.
Pastoral - The first book of André Alexis's Quincunx, a series of five stand alone but thematically interconnected novels. This one is about faith. Not going to lie, I chose it for the cover.

Vickie (bookfan4ever) I will get a poll together, so look for it soon (hopefully without errors!) :-)

I've actually ordered Moon on the Crusted Snow, it just sounded too good.

Candace (candywilliams) | 491 comments Are you taking suggestions for the next 2019 quarter yet?

StarMan (thestarman) | 1942 comments Candace wrote: "Are you taking suggestions for the next 2019 quarter yet?"

Sure, we take Quarterly suggestions all year long :)

(and, for the record, we are such lazy laid-back Snails that we usually only wind up doing a couple of 'Quarterly' reads a year)

message 14: by Vickie (new)

Vickie (bookfan4ever) Okay lovely Snails, the Quarterly Poll is officially closed, thanks to everyone who voted! Here's the winner and new thread...

Yes, suggest our next Quarterly read (for later in 2019) here in this thread anytime.

StarMan (thestarman) | 1942 comments The first day of SUMMER will be June 21 (I think!)....

► Are y'all up for a SUMMER Quarterly read?

If so, suggest a title or two for a Summer Quarterly read here!

You can re-suggest previous nominations from above if desired. Our Quarterly suggestions are typically books that may take a bit longer to get through... but that's not a necessity.

I think it's about time for a FALL 2019 QUARTERLY read. I'll put up a new suggestion thread/poll!
