VAMPIRES DON'T SPARKLE discussion

This is where I'll be posting my reviews for vampire books I'll be reading in 2019. I have a whole stack of books piled up ready jump right into!

For my first vampire book of the year...






FIVE BLOODY FANGS!!!!!

If you are...like me...a die hard fan of the original Dracula, then this prequel by Dacre Stoker and J.D. Barker is a rare treat! It's a rollercoaster ride, a vampire's funhouse! A Hammer Film with a modern day twist!

Not to give too much away, but it claims that (view spoiler)[the first 101 pages of Bram Stoker's manuscript for Dracula were cut because of Jack the Ripper, and that the original book was supposed to be a warning by Bram Stoker that those events actually took place and that the Evil is real. (hide spoiler)] A little hard to swallow, but I'll go with it. The stork follows Bram Stoker from a sickly bedridden child to a rejuvenated twenty-one year old who confronts all sorts of supernatural phenomena including Dracula himself!

And don't worry....Dracula ("Dracul") is no romantic anti-hero or love sick "misunderstood vampire". NO....he is a monster! No sparkly vampires here....just the ones you encountered when you read the original book.

This was a very enjoyable read, plan to re-read it in a few months. And I hope Dacre Stoker keeps writing Dracula books!!!

I could go on and on about how enjoyable this book was. Five Bloody Fangs!!!
