Lea's Audiobooks Hensley (leahensleysaudiobooks) I just realized that the original thread was started 2 1/2 years ago before Audible had a "Coming Soon" feature and it is now very long. Time to start a new thread and I'm locking the old one.

The latest post on the original thread was from Caz:
Anna Lee Huber's three Lady Darby books, The Anatomist's Wife, Mortal Arts and A Grave Matter are due for release in Sept and Oct. The narrator is Heather Wilds.

Lauren (laurenjberman) So excited about The Anatomist's Wife (Lady Darby, #1) by Anna Lee Huber - I've been hoping it would come out on audio :0)

Me, too. I saw on her website a few weeks back that audios were planned, and then found these at Tantor when I was browsing their new release lists.

Billie Jo (luv4romance) | 53 comments I happen to come across two amazing books both narrated by the very talented Kirsten Potter....

Taming a Wild Scot: Claimed by the Highlander
Taming a Wild Scot (Claimed by the Highlander, #1) by Rowan Keats
AND
When a Laird Takes a Lady: Claimed by the Highlander
When a Laird Takes a Lady (Claimed by the Highlander, #2) by Rowan Keats

The 3rd book is scheduled to be released Dec. 2, 2014 - I really hope it's also narrated by Ms Potter!

Sadly, I doubt even the extremely talented Ms Potter will be able to make silk purses out of sow's ears :(

I gave the second book 2 stars, and I was being generous.

I couldn't find the part you referenced to about the purse but then I wasn't listening for the purpose of reviewing the book - which a good thing since I'm not great at writing reviews lol

I often find books where parts seem to be a bit far fetched. But, I'm pretty easy to please in that I read and listen to historical romance more for entertainment and less for the historical accuracy. I really think Kirsten Potter did a great job and I loved both the story lines by Rowan Keats.

Moriah | 497 comments Tantor is picking up some of Sherry Thomas's backlist including Not Quite a Husband on Nov 4th and His at Night on Nov 18th. Narrator is listed as Anne Flosnik. I know that some people aren't fans of hers, but for me I don't mind the narration. Looking forward to both titles.

message 8: by Moriah (new)

Moriah | 497 comments Elizabeth Hoyt's Darling Beast comes out on 10/14 and it looks like Ashford McNab is back narrating. I wish it was available to pre-order at audible - I have a credit I have to use by 10/7.

message 9: by Caz (new)

Caz (caz963) | 221 comments Anne Flosnik narrating Sherry Thomas ... I think I'm going to cry. I'm sure she's a lovely person, but I just can't listen to her. I keep trying in the hope I will be able to adapt to her - she just narrated "Waking Up With the Duke" by Lorraine Heath, which is an audio I've been waiting for - but her voice continues to grate. I'll have to stick with the print versions :(

Oh, jeepers- I feel the same way. It's that weird breathing thing she does.

message 12: by Caz (new)

Caz (caz963) | 221 comments Yes. That and her delivery is so robotic. Oh, well. Another couple of favourite books I won't be able to listen to :(

message 13: by Caz (new)

Caz (caz963) | 221 comments I've just seen Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover is up for pre-order (release date 25 November). I've enjoyed the series so far - although for some reason, Harper has switched narrators and is using Justine Eyre instead of Rosalyn Landor.

Why do publishers switch narrators during series?

Also - not an Eyre fan, so this is another one I'll be sticking to in print.

Moriah | 497 comments Not sure when it will come out, but Grace Burrowes posted on her website that she sent Darius: Lord of Pleasures off to be recorded. It looks like she might do more Lonely Lords books if there is enough interest.

Good to know! I purchased her other self published audiobooks, and love her usual narrator. Whoever its is, I trust her taste.

message 25: by Caz (new)

Caz (caz963) | 221 comments @ Moriah I left a comment on her blog post asking if it's James Langton :). He's done a good job with her other audios - and now, whenever I'm reading one of her books, his is the voice I hear in my head!

message 34: by Lady (new)

Lady Hi everyone I am new to posting on this thread. I have been reading your comments for months. I enjoy Anita Mills books, especially Autumn Rain, Falling Star, and Secret Nights. Falling Star is now in audio format from Audible. My concern is I have never listened to the narrator, Rosalind Ashford other than what I have heard from samples. Would love your comments on her ability to deliver various accents: British, Italian, Russian, and French voices. In addition to male and children.

When I listen to her I think she sounds very old. However, I do not know how well she delivers emotions or intonations in her audiobooks. Any comments. Thanks

message 35: by Tracy T. (new)

Tracy T. (tracy_t) I have only listened to one book narrated by Rosiland Ashford and thought she did a good job. Much better than some I have listened to. Best bet is to give her a try.

message 36: by Sylvia (new)

Sylvia | 3 comments Tantor will be releasing Pamela Clare's Blakewell/Kenleigh Family series, narrated by Kaleo Griffith: Sweet Release on Nov 28, Carnal Gift on Dec 23 and Ride the Fire on Jan 20.

message 37: by Caz (new)

Caz (caz963) | 221 comments @ Lady Day, I've listened to Rosalind Ashford a couple of times, in Compromised by Kate Noble and Devil's Match by Anita Mills. I'd say she's an average narrator, not horrible, but not top-notch. I've heard her do a couple of foreign accents, which were not good, but her other characterisations are okay - you can tell the characters apart. I found her narration just a bit on the slow side, but not dreadfully so. My review of the Noble is at AudioGals if you want to check it out; the Mills review hasn't run yet.

Hope that helps!

Moriah | 497 comments Tantor is showing the first book in the Lady Emily series And Only to Deceive (Lady Emily, #1) by Tasha Alexander . It is narrated by Kate Reading. I'm hoping they will be releasing the middle books in the series that are also missing in audio. Kate Reading doesn't narrator the other books in the series but I'm so excited to see this title released I don't mind the change in narrator.

message 42: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Thanks for the info Moriah. I've been wanting to listen to this series but don't want to start with the 2nd book which is already on audio. I really don't understand the logic of recording the middle books but not the first.

No, it didn't. But it's an ACX/self-pubbed title, I think, and they often don't show up until they are actually released.
