Marni (marnitanya) | 9 comments Here goes nothing! Just realized that the one book I've read in 2019 that I didn't already own I added to my TBR list in 2019. Great start! Hahahahaha

Marni (marnitanya) | 9 comments First book down:
Under the Banner of Heaven A Story of Violent Faith by Jon Krakauer
Borrowed from Tulsa City-County Library
★★★
This book is one I've wanted to read for many many years. It was interesting and informative, but not quite as captivating as I had hoped it would be.

Marni (marnitanya) | 9 comments Second book completed:
I am Charlotte Simmons by Tom Wolfe
★★★★
Wolfe really captures what collegiate life is like, from class to frat houses to athletics. In many ways, this mirrored my experience of being the student so much was expected of to falling quickly into a morass of bacchanalia. He painted such an accurate picture of how slippery that slope is and how easy it is to fall.

Marni (marnitanya) | 9 comments Third book done:
Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer
Borrowed on RB Digital
★★★★
LOVED this entire series! So glad the 4th and final book was available right away.

Marni (marnitanya) | 9 comments Number four is complete:
The Circle by Dave Eggers
Borrowed on Overdrive
★★★★
This book was intense and really made me think about the connections in this world on a personal level. Very weird being 75% through and walking into an Apple store...

Marni (marnitanya) | 9 comments Number five:
Ask Again, Yes by Mary Beth Keane
Borrowed on Overdrive and Kindle
★★★
I had heard a lot of great things about this book, but it disappointed me. I didn't feel there was anything special. It was an interesting book and did hold my interest, but for me didn't have the appeal that so many other people felt.

Marni (marnitanya) | 9 comments Number six:
Educated by Tara Westover
Borrowed on CloudLibrary
★★★★★
This book met my expectations and more. Her story was heart wrenching, and seeing how she dealt with her trauma was inspiring. I would absolutely recommend this book to everyone I know.
