23-31 (Just to remind myself, Kare)

Good idea !

Starting it now! God, this got so held up :/

I know! I only managed to read till ch 25 last week! But hoping for more this week :/

Chapter 23:
(view spoiler)[“Does Eril-Fane want me to climb that?” Calixte asked, staring up at the great seraph.
“What’s the matter? Couldn’t do it?” taunted Ebliz Tod.
“Have to reach it first,” she quipped. “I suppose that’s where you come in.” She waved her hand at him, queenly. “Be a dear and build me some stairs.”

Did I mention I love Calixte? I love her!!! I would really like to see Weep in a picture. A movie would be great, please. I like the idea of anchors. Something beautiful. I wonder if the citadel could be saved by drifting away. I do feel bad for Azareen. I didn’t realise she was also his wife. It isn’t fair. Eril-Fane kinda reminded me of the way Keenan was haunted in "An Ember in the Ashes’’. I think Sarai will one day free him of this. One day when they do find peace. I am so sad right now! This chapter hit close to heart. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 24:
(view spoiler)[I do respect Minya for being so brave. Seriously. I get why she is cruel, but she has guts. I also hate her though. The ‘door’ logic was very interesting. Shame that the doors and everything else was ‘frozen’ when Skathis died but maybe they can do something. So, the 4 anchors were the 4 Mesarthium monsters? Am I wrong??? Poor Ruby, I hope Minya doesn’t change her, but fighting for survival is necessary too. I loved Sarai’s defiance. I can relate to that feeling. I think she’ll like Lazlo too. Cannot wait to see what she thinks of him. She will also gain knowledge of the outside world and if she’s clever, she might know what skills each of them has. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 25:
(view spoiler)[The moment I read that the ghost Ari-Eil was compelled to tell Sarai the location of the guests, I thought she’d miss Lazlo! But she didn’t. Why not? Wasn’t he staying with Eril-Fane’s mother? Well, that was Thyon Nero! I hate this! (Sorry, this was before I read Lazlo’s section) The description of the sleeping guests was very good, lol. P.S. Was Tzara with Calixte? As a couple? Lol, the plums. Wow. So Azareen was his wife before he was lover to Isagol? Aw, she wears the ring still. Suheyla. Nice name. Was she a warrior too? Or a victim to the Gods when she was little? I loved Lazlo’s experience. I am glad she’ll find Lazlo now!!! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 26:
(view spoiler)[This chapter haunted me too! I wonder how it must feel to torture your father who already tortures himself? How it must be to be a responsible leader and live nights reliving your worst horrors. I like how Sarai acknowledged Lazlo. I think she’ll like Lazlo more once she recovers from his other worldly mind. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 27:
(view spoiler)[PLEASE I wanna see what beauty she saw in Lazlo’s dream. It was magical! I was dying and couldn’t breathe as she studied his profile! I already ship them so damn hard! I actually shouted 'F***' when his eyes followed her! Of course, with joy! Did the moth really die? Or did Sarai call it back? Did she made his forget, or he forgot it like we forget dreams? Chapter 28:
(view spoiler)[Wow, so Lazlo will remember her again when he sees the dead moth! The river Uzumark is extraordinary. I love Suheyla. That was so sad what happened. Why did she take her hand to her belly? Who was Eril-Fane’s father? Was he a god too? Maybe not. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 29:
(view spoiler)[She never let them go. An Army. Minya is terrible. I knew this would happen. She had to take revenge. She longs for it. I also understand Sarai. She’s thinking she could have tried to change their perspectives, but the others are already way different from Minya. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 30:
(view spoiler)[Thank God for Calixte and Lazlo’s chatting that made me feel a lil better after that last chapter.

“Scream if you need saving,” she called after him.
“Always.”

I think he might need to scream sometime in the future, lol. Wow, they destroyed the 4 mosr important structures with their anchors. Clever. I want Lazlo to be the liberator! Wow, this was awesome: Skathis spread the wings and stole the sky, Letha stole the name. What did Isagol steal? I’d love to see Calixte climb that and see Tod lose and build her the tower. Does she have an emerald, or is she so damn confident? The writing was so good when Lazlo came upon that painting. I felt the horror, dammit. I love this so so so much! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 31:
(view spoiler)[Why won’t Sarai’s lull work? Why, why, why? Aw, Sparrow’s part was so sad. Wouldn’t it be grand is she found her mum? I wanna know what book Feral was trying to read. What was it? Also, I had my hands in fists and I was shaking my head while reading of Feral and Ruby. Oh Ruby! And Sparrow was making her gift! And Minya. I couldn’t take that. Shit. ‘They were all I could carry.’ Damn. I wanna cry for her. Yes, she could have bound every one. Even those Gods. She’s vulnerable too. So much. (hide spoiler)]

Overall: I am so damn sad.

Hey Aqi, I'm sorry about the lateness, um I'll probably start tomorrow since I'm going camping and it's a 2 hour drive so I have plenty of time to read the first part :)

Ch 23: unseen no longer
- [ ] Ah the citadel is blue metal, how fitting
- [ ] I wonder how they will figure out how to get rid of it
- [ ] Oh man I feel for Azareen and Eril fane, how hard it would’ve been for Azareen to learn that her husband betrayed her for a goddess and then have him destroy himself by destroying the gods and the city? It’s no wonder Eril fane feels such a hatred and loneliness all the time
- [ ] You know what though, I’m starting to think that the white bird is Isagol, it would make sense why she’s following Eril fane and then helping the godspawn with the seeds. I guess she had to since her daughter was there

Ch 24: Obscenity. Calamity. Godspawn
- [ ] That’s why Minya is mad too, she is the daughter of the great god Skathis and yet she didn’t inherit his power of manipulating the blue metal
- [ ] But I really don’t like Minya trying to force her way into the others life and making them think violent things
- [ ] I wonder if Sarai will visit her father

Ch 25: the night and the newcomers
- [ ] It’s cute how Eril fane's Mother is fussing over Lazlo, it’s quite cute and so motherly, but I bet she misses her own son
- [ ] It’s so fascinating to read about Sarai's power and how she can see their lives and dreams of the sleepers, you can learn so much

Ch 26: broken people
- [ ] Oh she has met Lazlo! At least she didn’t completely disregard him at first like everyone else
- [ ] I feel sorry for Sarai because of Minya and her need for Sarai to punish her father, she now has the nightmares

Ch 27: another world
- [ ] Aww of course Lazlo dreams of Weep! How cute, he is so obsessed with Weep. And I’m glad that it’s brought a smile on Sarai's face
- [ ] Oh gosh ! I’m so happy and yet so sad for both of them! Here they both are seeing each other for the first time in a dream, and yet it’s only a dream. When in real life if they see each they might have to kill one another!

Ch 28: no way to live
- [ ] Wow, that was such a deep chapter about Eril fane and her mother and his wife
- [ ] It’s very sad, but why would the gods and goddesses mistreat the humans like this
- [ ] Why didn’t they wipe his memory? If they had, they probably wouldn’t have been slaughtered

Ch 29: the other babies
- [ ] Omg Minya you horrible person!! How could you say that to Sarai!
- [ ] Wow she has so much anger and hate

Ch 30: stolen name, stolen sky
- [ ] Oh! So Sarai actually painted her face like her mother’s to visit her father, and now Lazlo sees the goddess on a wall painting Dead, he must be terrified that he was dreaming of a dead goddess
- [ ] Oh that’s right, Lazlo wouldn’t have known what Isagol looked like and yet he dreamt her
- [ ] Well he is going to have a major surprise if Sarai tells him who she really is. I wonder if she can speak in dreams

Ch 31: darlings and vipers
- [ ] Oh what a horrible image of a six year old holding onto 4 little ones and saving them
- [ ] But then she still has that mind. Enslaving the gods?! I can’t imagine a 6 year old doing that
- [ ] I see that Ruby finally got what she wanted ;)

Ch 23.
I don't think the white bird is Isagol. Maybe Seraphim. Let's see. I mean, if she were Isagol, she'd have done something by now.

Ch 24.
I also don't like Minya forcing her opinions and views onto others. I do like that they don't particularly agree with her view. At least not fully.

Ch 25.
Yeah, I loved Eril-Fane's mom. She was very warm. Sarai is magnificent!

Ch 26.
Agreed! This was a good chapter.

Ch 27.
This chapter was so magical. I shipped them immediately!!

Ch 28.
They did not wipe his memory because they weren't returning him back to his mother then. And he killed them before they could.

Ch 30.
I think Sarai will bisit him in his dream again.

Ch 31.
Minya could have done all that if she knew how to control her power then. I feel real pity for her. As for Ruby, I think Sparrow is gonna hate her for that.

Chapter 32:
(view spoiler)[I can’t stand Minya now. She’s gonna be the true villain here. She’s such a b**** for ruining the lull and cruel for the whispers of the ghosts. I really believe Sarai needs to tell these little things to the rest of them. I’m glad she found a hideaway in Lazlo’s dream. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 33:
(view spoiler)[This was okay. It’s weird how they are worried. I think Eril-Fane had the most reason to be afraid since he is the one who remembers all of it. The horrors bestowed upon him. Thyon might find something out, I suppose. No much. It’s funny how he’s resort to privacy. Why Calixte’s hand don’t get grey from Mesathium? (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 34:
(view spoiler)[Who could Thyon be expecting? Oh Lazlo. So is the Mesarthium only reacting to Lazlo’s skin? Is Lazlo different?? If yes, then his spirit might work. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 35:
(view spoiler)[okay, Azareen had a godspawn child. It was killed, right? I don’t know why but I have this feeling that Lazlo isn’t just human. I could be wrong. I like Sparrow more than Ruby. I am disappointed in Feral. I think Sarai might communicate with Lazlo in a way that helps. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 36:
(view spoiler)[I wonder why Minya doesn’t send her ghost of an army down to kill everyone? She could. I might, if I were her. Would be easier (for her). That ill-favoured one was Drave, wasn’t it? OMG I ship them both so hard! I love these little bits! I loved what she did in the end. I did not want the chapter to end! I loved how she called the other one an imposter, lol. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 37:
(view spoiler)[Master Hyrrokkin is a gem, isn’t he? This was perfect. I’m glad she communicated. I’m also happy Lazlo figured it out. I don’t want Minya to know ever that Sarai talked to him. Shame that she ended the dream with such a grotesque image. I wonder what Lazlo will do now. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 38:
(view spoiler)[Wow, I swear my own hearts were hammering inside. Sarai was quicker. I thought she’d be late. What will Minya do to Sarai? (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 39:
(view spoiler)[They only know about Sarai. Will Sarai visit Lazlo in the dream again? I pray she does. Is Eril-Fane relived to see Sarai? Does he know she’s her daughter? Who is Wraith? I really wanna know. I think she is Seraphim but tell me already! Now we know why Minya didn’t send her ghosts in the city, they can be held at a certain distance and then they’re free. (hide spoiler)]

We can divide section 4 into 3 parts. We'll discuss from chapters 40-50 now :) I've started the portion! Will share tonight :)

Ch 23: yes I love Calixte too, such is so sarcastic at times haha
And yeah I also feel for Azareen and Eril fane.

Ch 24: yeah Minya is quite terrible, but yeah defs a brave kid for helping those 4 infants and wanting to go back and save more. But sadly she just had so much hatred for humans
I’m not sure about the mesarthium monsters?
Yeah I also didn’t like how Minya made them eachseem like they were weapons, how awful
But Sarai is strong for defying her

Ch 25: yes Calixte and Tzara are a thing haha
Yeah I feel for Azareen the most since she is waiting for her dear husband whom she lost to the gods

Ch 26: right? How much this would have affected Sarai to torture her father in such a way
Yes I liked how she acknowledged him too

Ch 27: ah I ship them too! And they both blush heaps! So cute
I think Lazlo just forget about the dream like we all do
And yeah that moth really did die since it didn’t go back to her before sun rise

Ch 28: maybe Suheyla is pregnant ?
Oh I never thought of Eril fane parents?

Ch 29: yeah quite sad to see how much Minya thought so much for revenge and how she is using all those people

Ch 30: hahah yes Calixte is just amazing!
Haha yes her bet ! I’ll love to see how that will turn out!

Ch 31: yeah I forget they each have human parents too who do not know they even exist quite sad
Yeah I ship Feral and Sparrow more than Ruby.

Part 2

Ch 32: the space between nightmares
- [ ] Minya is a horrible person, I can’t believe she is putting so much pressure and stress on Sarai, when clearly she doesn’t want to do anything for Minya

Ch 33: we are all children in the dark
- [ ] Wow that was a deep chapter too
- [ ] So now Eril fane wants to go up there, just like Minya predicted. That was defs a lot sooner than I expected tbh
- [ ] His reaction when he finds out that there is 5 godspawn and an army of ghosts, he’s going to lose it and so will everyone else!

Ch 34: spirit of Librarian
- [ ] Lazlo why are so you stupidly noble and loyal, despite everything Nero has ever done to him and yet he still helps him out!
- [ ] I’m still confuse as to why Nero needs spirit ?

Ch 35: blurred ink
- [ ] Man I feel for the girls and Feral, it must be hard being with Minya and having to accept everything she says
- [ ] But I’m glad Sarai is fighting back, maybe she can find another way when she visits those below

Ch 36: shopping for a moon
- [ ] First of all, I like the chapter name XD
- [ ] It’s so cute how Sarai thinks of Lazlo a lot more now
- [ ] Awwww Lazlo dreamt of Sarai!! How cute!
- [ ] HAHAHAHA Sarai is jealous of her own dreamlike image ! This was such a sweet chapter, so glad this was placed here, especially with the last few chapters being so deep

Ch 37: a perfectly delightful shade of blue
- [ ] Oh that was becoming such a beautiful chapter but then it ended with that gruesome finish!
- [ ] They were so cute together in the dream, I was happy to see Sarai finally get rid of Lazlo's version of Isagol/Sarai and she was able to enjoy herself
- [ ] But I feel for her, knowing that he is the enemy and yet she feels at peace with him.
- [ ] Oh I love his Mentor, he's pretty sassy

Ch 38: everyone will die
- [ ] OMG OMG OMG !!!!
- [ ] This is all I’m thinking right now!!

Ch 39: uncanny enemies
- [ ] Oh my gosh, what a chapter! She actually did it!
- [ ] But then I can’t believe Sarai risked herself to warn them! Now I’m afraid of what Minya will do to her for ruining her plan!
- [ ] The godslayer, he will come back for them and this Time Minya and him will fight to the end, I can just feel it!

Ch 33: I do think Eril fane is worried but yeah I guess they’re all afraid since it’s the unknown that has taken away their sky and city name

Ch 34: hmm maybe. I think Nero was expecting something important to be given to him.

Ch 35: yeah her child was killed. Yeah I think Lazlo isn’t just human either, idk things are always looking well for him.
Yes I like Sparrow more, I hope feral sees this soon

Ch 36: oh wow never really thought of that. Maybe she’s afraid that if she attacks below she doesn’t have the advantage of knowing the area, not as much as the citadel
Ah I know! I loved both of them! And seeing a jealous Sarai was really funny

Ch 37: hahah yes that was a perfect moment with the master.
Yeah it did end pretty horrible that dream but what will he do now ?

Ch 38: ahhh!

Ch 39: I hope she does see him again too. I think he does know, and tbh I don’t think he’s happy about it. I mean he was the one who killed the babies too
Yeah that makes sense, she can’t risk having them be free. But what happens to them if they get released?

Yes, I wonder who Eril-Fane's father was. Weird he is never mentioned. I totally hated it when Lazlo shared his spirit. Also you asked, so do you remember that Thyon Nero needed spirit to turn metal to gold? That's his secret ingredient, right? He's hoping to work more wonders using spirit. I loved 'shopping for a moon' too. I loved the bit where Sarai was jealous of her own image! Lol, the last chapter was so shocking. I loved Sarai for warning them. Maybe that will change their impression? But not much, I'm sure. The ghosts get free and they find peace when they are released from Minya's power. At a certain distance from Minya, they are free. I bet Minya would have killed the humans if her power could work at a greater distance. As for Lazlo, I don't think he's human. I mean, Mesarthim makes his hand grey, only he can see Sarai and I'm thinking his spirit will work. Maybe these gods had brown babies too. Who knows?

I finished 10 more chapters.

Finished till 50. Will share in a while. I am so excited.
