Mount TBR 2019 discussion

Hi, it’s your friendly neighborhood Rokinrev, hoping to seriously get some of this backlog cleared. Made it up Arafat last year, and if stick to it and my resolutions to not “buy” any freebies, it ought to be an interesting year.

Today is January 31. I actually HAVE read 5 off the long term TBR and my first of the year was also one, but it was horrible and I quit after 50 pages.

1.”Don’t Let Me Down ”: This was my #firstbookof2019. It was an ARC I won last fall (and will drop next week). I did NOT finish it

2. “A Knight’s Quest for the Holy Grail” by CS Johnson is a small story in Johnson’s books and it’s a wonderful look at depression through the eyes of a fairy tale. 5 stars

3. “Thread and Gone” by Lea Waite is a cozy mystery series with great characters. 4 stars

4. “Dangling by a Thread” by Lea Waite is another in the series of The Mainely Needlepointers. 5 stars

5. “Circe” by Madeline Miller certainly was 1: worth the wait, and 2: One of Goodreads best from 2018. It ended up on my TBR after I’d purchased “Song of Achilles “. It took well over 8 months before I got it from the library, and was so good I am now planning on getting a used copy when I can afford it. 5+ stars

6. “Time and Again” by Jack Finney was a Book I first heard about on Tor.com and when I had to return the library copy, I bought myself one. I just finished it last night. It is also a 5+ star book
