Fablehaven discussion

Summary: Fablehaven is about two kids who have to go live with their grandpa for a couple weeks. Kendra and Seth, the kids, soon find out that their grandpas house is actually a reserve for magical animals. They run into many problems at Fablehaven. They have to use their intelligence to solve problems and save the reserve from a witch and a powerful demon.
Conflict Analysis:The main conflict in fablehaven starts when two young children go to stay at her grandpa's farm. The kids names are Kendra and Seth. Kendra is the mature older sister, Seth is the troublemaker of the group. There grandpa's farm turns out to actually be a reserve for magical creatures. The major conflict of the book happens after something goes wrong between the kids and the magical creatures.
First, When Seth and Kendra arrive at their grandpas reserve they are told not to drink the milk that their grandpa puts outside for the butterflies. Well it turns out that Grandpa Sorensen which is his name by the way, actually wanted them to drink the milk because the milk gave whoever drank it the ability to see all the magical creatures in fablehaven. Eventually Seth and Kendra Drink the milk. This leads to them know seeing hundreds of fairies in the garden.
Next, the day after they hear a knock at the door. A man by the name of Maddox is at the door for grandpa sorenson, Maddox is a fairy hunter and sells fairies to people who own reserves. Anyway Seth is inspired by this fairy hunter and decides to go try to catch a fairy in the garden. Seth finds out that it is nearly impossible to catch the fairies with a net. He then comes up with the idea to use a trap. Seth eventually captures a fairy and keeps in in a cage overnight. Little did he know if a fairy is kept indoors overnight, it turns into an ugly troll like beast. The other fairies found this very rude of Seth and decided to punish him. The fairies proceeded to turn Seth into a walrus like beast.
Later, Seth is turned back into normal by a witch, after that an event called midsummer eve is coming up. On midsummer eve all the creatures in Fablehaven are allowed to roam free. Seth and Kendra are safe as long as they stay in the attic and keep all doors and windows shut. They fairies are supposed to provide extra protection but they did not help because they hated Seth. Seth suddenly hears a baby crying and decided to open the window to help it. Little did he know it was an illusion. Suddenly a goblin jumped in through the window. Grandpa came in with a shotgun and the goblin chased him downstairs. Kendra and Seths only protection now is a magical powder ring that if the creatures cross they will die. Kendra and Seth decide to go back to bed.
The next morning, Grandpa Sorenson was missing. Seth and Kendra are forced to ask the with for help to find their grandpa. The witch says she will only help if they set her free. They do what they have to do. They eventually locate Grandpa Sorenson who is located in a prison where a powerful demon is kept. When the go to find him the witch is already their trying to free the demon and release chaos on the reserve. After and epic battle they eventually stop the witch and get Grandpa Sorenson back.
Review: I really enjoyed this book do to the crazy adventure always keeping you on the edge of your seat. Fablehaven has tons of magical creatures and crazy things happening throughout the book that keep you interested.
