Middle East/North African Lit discussion

I'm delighted to open the discussion of The Architect's Apprentice by Elif Shafak. I just started the book, and so far it is fun, captivating, and beautifully written! In fact, this book is so good that this is a group RE-read! We read the book as a group in 2016 (although this is my first time, personally). I have already read this twice and loved it each time I read it!
Sometimes when I read a book a second time I will find things I don't like about it, but that was not at all the case with this The characters were believable for me and the novel really transported me to the time period.
I have enjoyed all Shafak's books I've read so far but this imo is her best!
I will not be rereading it again so soon, but will join in when other people comment!

I read it about a year ago and enjoyed it. I thought it was one of her better novels. I won't be reading it again but will join the discussion when others get going with it.

I was able to get a copy of the book today. I'm very excited to get started on it.
