Just finished listening to the audio book, which is narrated by Lin-Manuel Miranda. What a beautiful story! There are many themes that this book touches upon - growing up, relationships between family members, family secrets, friendships etc. The prose is beautiful. I can definitely recommend the audio book.

I also listened to the audio book read by Lin-Manuel Miranda and he was sublime. It is a beautiful story about family, friendship and love.

I was busy with end of the semester grading, so I’m just now finishing this book. I really enjoyed the main story and relationships of the family members. It’s not normal that I’d say this, but I think I’d like a movie version of this story.

Ari is somewhat of an unreliable narrator, and I would have liked the added ability to see his body language communicate what he doesn’t say/write. I think this would also help with developing secondary characters more without having to use tons of time to tell us specifically. For example I could see a montage of Ari’s aunt showing us a lot in a short amount of time.
