10.1 Design Your Own Task

Write a task for yourself! If you repeat this task (can be used 3 times total), you must use the same task each time. Cannot be used as a combo.

10.2 Jackson's Dilemma

Read any book with a possessive in the title.

10.3 Summer 2017

Read any book by an author whose name as published contains no letter I.

10.4 Visiting

Read a book off of one of these groups shelves: Catching up on Classics (and lots more!) AND Historical Fictionistas.

10.5 D-Day

June 6, 1944 was the beginning of the end of WWII. Read one of the top 100 from the list Best Beginning or one of the top 200 from the list Best Ending.

10.6 Author Lifetime Awards

Read a book by any author who has won one of the following lifetime achievement awards:

St Louis Literary Award
Irish PEN Award
Golden PEN Award

10.7 Summer Shorts (Mary's Task)

Read a book of short works (stories, essays, poems, plays etc) where no single work in the book is more than 100 pages OR read two or more short (<100 pages each) works that collectively total 100+ pages. Reminder: If using the 2 book option, both works must qualify for any style points.

10.8 Series (Beth's Task)

Read a book in a series, according to Goodreads, that is not #1 in that series. For RwS purposes, a series must consist of at least 3 published works.

10.9 All Star Reads (Anika's Task)

Whenever people find out I'm a reader, they always ask what my favorite book is. With your input, we have created a list of our favorite books and put them into a Listopia!

Read any book found on our Listopia.

20.2 Oxford Authors

Read a book by an author who is listed as Members of Oxford University. You may choose any author listed in the section "Literature".

20.3 A Severed Head

Read a title that is both a book and a play. The original could have been either and then the alternate form follows. You may read either form. When claiming points for this task, please provide a link to both the play and the book. (See help thread for more information/ideas).

20.4 The Black Prince

Read a book from Boxall's 1001 books to read before you die, written by a woman. This list may be of use.

20.5 London

Read a book set at least 75% in London, England.

20.6 Characters

Read a book with at least 9 named characters.

20.7 Shakespeare

Read any Shakespeare play or a re-telling of a Shakespeare work.

20.8 Revisit a Friend (Lynn's Task)

Challenges are great because they help introduce me to new genres and authors, but they rarely allow time for developing a deeper relationship with particular authors.

Find an author that you read for the first time in the last year (June 1, 2018 - May 31, 2019). Read an additional book by that author. You may not use this task for combos.


20.9 Apollo 11 (Kate S's Task)

50 years ago, we landed on the moon. Let's celebrate by reading a book shelved as space by at least 30 members.

20.10 Historical (Elizabeth (Alaska)'s Task)

Read a book by any of these Women historical novelists. You may include books by any pseudonyms of these women. If you're claiming a pseudonym, please note it when you post.

50.1 Project RwS

Read any book set at least 51% in one of the countries not yet logged in our Group Project. You do not have to read for this task for your mega finish. Countries Still to Go.
