It always makes me tear up.

Stacy | 13 comments I fell a bit behind on my reading, so I barely finished Prudence today. But I’ve already jumped into Imprudence with the hope of powering back into the Read Along schedule.

The thing I love most about Prudence and the whole series, really, is that there is a character that is fit for every reader’s taste. One might not love all of them, but I’ll bet each reader sides with one of them. It’s almost like a personality test: if Rue’s your favorite, maybe you’re a wild, carefree, spontaneous adventurer who throws caution to the wind and goes for it. If Prim’s your favorite, maybe you’re a diligent, responsible rule-follower who needs experiences and a friend like Rue to help you see there’s opportunity in the occasional risk, etc, etc.

I’m most partial to Percy, which is why I think I favor him: I’m an introverted, occasionally annoying, always wants-to-be-right bookworm academic who would much prefer to be walled in by books than having to interact with most people. But like Percy, there are a few people whom I actually adore and would do whatever I could to please them so that they keep me around.

This is why I am MOST excited to read Reticence - maybe it will be like reading my own mindset.

But, really, I love them all! All the characters in this series have characteristics that I love, hate, or want in myself - similar to how I felt while reading the Finishing School series, too. So I love watching them bumble through these fun adventures together. And found family will always take the win in my book.

I also really enjoyed Moira Quirk as audiobook narrator. All of her voices were on point, especially Spoo’s voice, which was my all-time favorite. The only one Ms. Quirk messed up on was Biffy’s voice - she read him with a Russian accent, which was all kinds of wrong, but luckily he only had a few lines in the beginning, so it could be forgiven.

Thoroughly enjoying re-reading all of these books, especially for hearing the audio for the first time! Hopefully I can get back on track with the Read Along schedule.
