Tessa learns that Nate isn’t her brother but her cousin (Aunt Harriet’s illegitimate son). She’s getting closer to learning more about her ancestry. Aloysius’s reaction after seeing her seems to support her mother being the important connection. Do you have a better idea of who and what she is?

I still have no idea. I have theories, but most of them are the ones from the book.

I haven’t a clue either but Aloysius clearly recognized something in her. I’m thinking her mother was in a relationship with another being, maybe a faerie given her nature. I just don’t believe it would be a demon.

I'm so glad Nate isn't really her brother. It still hurts Tessa, since she grew up with him, but to realize that the evil in him is not inherently also in her must be of some comfort.
