The case had quite a few suspects...Pollock’s business partner, Truett; his wife, Una; his swindled investors; and his former wife Cecelia’s brother, Mr. York. Did you have other suspects initially? Who topped your list?

I thought there was a possibility that Truett and Una were working together. I figured he wanted Una's husband out of the picture so he could have all of the money and the woman. But, when he turned up dead, I wasn't sure if I was wrong or if there was a second murderer.

I had the same feeling about Truett and Una, too, especially since they were on a first name basis. He was definitely high on my list for a while. I actually was suspicious of Eddie early on, as well as Jane after she left.

Somehow I never suspected Cecelia's brother and Truett seemed too easy of an answer. I did suspect the swindled investors, Una, Jane and Eddie but for most of the book no one stayed for too long at the top of the list.

None of the characters were setting off my spidey sense until Una was released and revealed her true nature. I knew then she was in on the murder and Eddie's clear obsession with her suggested his involvement as well.
