I just finished reading this book to be debuted on August 13 th by the best selling author, Katherine Center. It was an easy read with short chapters that I like and many twist and turns. When I thought that I could predict the next and seemingly final plot, the author always surprised me with another narrative. Let’s just say, this is a book that keeps on giving! I am usually a fan of psychological thrillers and this was not that genre. The author provided an informative read about being and respecting the work of a firefighter. The main character Cassie was the quintessential feminist and in a very good way! I would recommend this book to be read by men and women alike!

I just finished reading this book by Katherine Center. This is the first of her books I have read and I really enjoyed it. It is a page turner that deals with respect, courage, strength, families, secrets and has many plot turns. I would recommend this book and I look forward to reading more books by this author.

I was sent Things You Save in a Fire as part of the Early Reader Campaign. I have finished the book and gave it a good rating. I really like the characters and the plot.

There are a few minor details that I would have changed but that is my personal opinion. I would have changed the birthday fiasco to be at a younger age, and describing Owen's mother in a pink pant suit brought a picture into my mind of a very elderly person that would be more like Owen's grandmother. Most likely these seemed odd to me because of my own personal experiences were very different than the author's.

The overall theme and take-away lesson is very good. Most people carry around suppressed anger and need to work on forgiveness so most everyone can relate in some way. Life is so short and fragile, let's work to make it our best. Overall a great read and I am glad to have had the opportunity to be able to read it ahead of the release date. I hope many others read this book.
