Welcome!

This ongoing discussion is your place to share what you are reading and what you think about it! It's fun to see what other people are reading in the community... plus you might discover a new book to read.

I'm reading The Outsorcerer's Apprentice by Tom Holt. If you like A. Lee Martinez or Terry Pratchett, give Tom Holt a try.

Melanie | 212 comments I got Diana's Boys: William and Harry and the Mother They Loved from the book sale many years ago. It had been floating around my Librivox recording wasn't downloaded so I listened to this.

I've enjoyed Anderson's work - quick biographies. What I did appreciate was that it was in favor of Diana but also didn't villify Charles.

Melanie | 212 comments I'm having a tough time getting into Caramelo. Awful Grandmoter, Little Grandfather, Uncle Fat Face - just not funny for me. Also too many people to try to keep track of in this book.

Melanie, Caramelo is one of my next reads, as we'll be discussing it in next weeks TALK book discussion! I hope that you get into it and end up enjoying it. :)

I just finished The Haunting of Hill House, by
Shirley Jackson. Amazing book. Subtle, creepy, and really pulled me into the madness of the narrator's experience.

Now I'm getting into The Woman in Black, by Susan Hill..strong start. :)

Melanie | 212 comments I'm reading it for the TALK book discussion. Caramelo did improve, but it would not be one of my favorites. I love the TALK discussions, and usually end up with a better appreciation for the book.

Melanie | 212 comments Picked up Skeletons at the Feast by Chris Bohjalian at the library book sale. I've read Double Bind and found it to be fresh and intersting. This one is takes place near the end of WWII.

I have finally finished the last book of the Fire and Ice series, (The Game of Thrones)A Dance with Dragons. Only took me about 2-3 months! It was good but it was hard to get through. I got confused on some of the characters and happenings. It ended pretty much in the middle of things. There is going to be another book. Hopefully it will end the series. It is in need of an ending. I am rooting for the Targaryens to win. It is a good series, but it is dragging out too long. And they killed off most of the main character! What's up with that? Oh well, waiting for the next book.
