Me too! :) I plan on starting it this evening. I'm in the mood for some good sci-fi right now, I've been reading a lot of depressing dramas lately.
I wasn't sure what to expect, but 27 pages in and this is pretty darn interesting! It has a Ready Player One feel.

I did get a giggle out of the Moby Dick reference, since we're also reading that! And Raven made me think of Queequeg. But that could just be because their narrated voices are similar.

Yeah, that comparison occurred to me as well. Though the pizza delivery at the beginning really confused me at first. But I've just been introduced to the "plugged in" world and that definitely reminds me of RP1.

Yeah, there's a definitely style to this that could turn people off. But I've read enough variety this year that I think I'm adapting to this particular style.
But I'm sure I'm also missing a lot of cultural references that would probably add to my enjoyment of the book. But rather than letting that get me down, I'm enjoying what I can about it.

I have tabled it for a bit because of another buddy ready happening where my buddies are flying through the book!

Cool. What book? Now that I'm getting to more scientific/mythical/religious explanations, it's quite interesting!
