Natalie | 10 comments I love this manga. It's very simple and it definitely carries a 90's vibe for manga. What I find endearing about this manga is how likeable the main characters are. Especially the main female lead. She's so likable and such a sweetheart. She's also very willing to adapt to her new environment.

Marajean | 58 comments From Far Away is one of my favorites that I pull out randomly and read again. I've read this one more times than Basara, which is my second favorite.

I really love the fact that it's not easy for her. The characters have established powers and abilities and she doesn't enter the new world with sudden magical abilities she never had before. Eventually she gains one ability though it might be more of Izark than her.

I loved the fact that she had to learn the language, nothing came easy for her in this world.

I have to agree with the likable characters, and honestly the relationship between Izark and Noriko is really sweet.

I really wish they'd make an anime of this one, and actually do the whole series, not just a 12 episode intro like they do with others that deserve better. *cough Skip Beat and Basara cough*

Marajean | 58 comments So I actually pulled this off my bookshelf and I've been reading it again. Currently at volume 6 about to hit 7 which is one of my favorites in the series.

But I have to say there are so many typos and inconsistencies in this series. I kind of notice them when I'm reading but have been overlooking them, but I really must say I feel like they slacked off in the editing department.

One of the biggest inconsistencies that I notice every time is right at the beginning when they find the merchant. He wakes up and says HEEEEER according to the book, which Noriko thinks is here, and wonders what he wants from here. In the original he says koko, which means here. A few panels later Izark gives him water and he says thank goodness it's koko. Noriko thinks, so koko means water, and if I'd known that I could have helped him.

I completely agreed with changing koko to heer, it makes sense for what's happening, but for some reason on basically the next page, they change it back to koko, which now makes it lose sense.

It's such a good series, and it feels more like they translated it and threw it out without giving it some extra care to correct the small errors. I haven't noticed that with other series, but maybe they have and I just haven't read those?

Cristina López (neoborycristi) | 4 comments I'm very late in this discussion, sorry! Due dates at work for so long!

I love this series, I found it many years ago when I wasn't even a teenager yet, and since then, this is one of my favorite two manga series (the other one being "Dear Mine" by Shigeru Takao. Back where I come from, Mexico, mangas are not easy to obtain, so when I found this through the internet, I confess I considered it my precious hidden gem.

Now that I read about people liking it, I feel so happy that it's being appreciated, even if it's still quite unknown to the general manga-reading public, I think.

The main protagonists are very lovable, but I also enjoy how much personality the support characters seem to have. The author has not only created a different world and presented it to us, she has populated it with interesting and diverse people.

I only own a few of the physical manga tomes, I wish I could find them all.
