Indu (indupramod) | 42 comments A memory which I like to share about books is the time when I read Emily's Runaway Imagination...It is not a great book or something like that...but I completely savoured the moment I read that book...It was a second-hand book...I was around 14 years...The old book smell...the character Emily...the illustration on the cover...the farm.. In short I longed to be Emily.. It was truly a magical experience..:):D

message 15: by Raquel (new)

Raquel Romero (raqueljeannie) | 17 comments I like to write down whatever books I have read. I started doing this senior year of high school. I wrote down every book starting in Aug 08 so once I got to Aug 09 & realized I read 60 books in a year, I was proud. Sadly, I've had random years since then where I'd be in some reading funk and just stop. I'm only at 160 now.

Also, when I finally bought most of VC Andrews books :)

message 16: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Ramirez (melissaramirez) | 241 comments When I was in junior high, my best friend and I had a "Pendragon Party"... and it was magical.
I don't know if you're familiar with the Pendragon series - it's a middle-grade/YA fantasy series; before the Hunger Games, before Twilight hit it big, before all that -

We literally pooled the Pendragon books we owned to make up the complete series (I think there are 8 books in all), and sat up in my room, and read together for HOURS...stopping only when we finished a book, to then pick up the next in the series.

So much intensive reading energy concentrated in one room!

message 25: by Jojobean (last edited May 14, 2015 08:52PM) (new)

Jojobean This is really sad but its my favorite memory.

My dad died 4 years ago from lung cancer. When he was sick and at home he liked to have someone sittings next to him in his bed when he was laying down even if he was sleeping. Sometimes his head hurt or his legs hurt and he would ask whoever was with him to massage them. One day I was home and he asked me to stay with him. I sat in the bed next to him for 5 hours, reading the book that would become my favorite books while he slept or while I rubbed his head. Its my best memory because I was able to spend time with my dad before he was gone. The book is Nevermore by Kelly Creagh and everytime I see it, it reminds me of my dad and the time we spent together. Its also helped that it is an all around great book and its my favorite because of its content and the memory it gives me.

message 28: by connyx (new)

connyx | 4 comments I honestly don't know if my mother read a lot to me when I wasn't able to read myself. but I do remember a story about a bookworm who ate some letters from fairytale titles and I remember laughing a lot when my mother was reading it to me with the missing letters.
My childhood wasn't easy so, this might be also one of my favorite childhood memories overall.

Does that count?

message 29: by Gayatri (new)

Gayatri | 31 comments My favourite memory is just finishing a book that takes you to different places. Its not a specific memory. Its just the feeling you get when you are overwhelmed with so many different emotions after reading a spectacular book :)

message 30: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 6 comments Reading The Unseen by Richie Tankersley Cusick. I'm pretty sure I cried twice, none of my predictions were correct, and to this day I still can't tell you what the hell happened. It was just one of those books that goes back and forth so many times you get lost in it and when it's over you have more questions than when you started. But it stays with me always.
