The 10th Doctor popped out. It hadn't been long since he had had to remove Donna's memories and drop Rose off in the parallel universe. In short, he was a wreck, not really doing much besides sobbing and getting into trouble that almost resulted in his death. He hadn't even piloted here, and he was surprised when he saw a familiar face. "Hello," he said, "you were Sally Sparrow, right?"
"Yeah, and you're the Doctor. What're you doing back here?" She asked, then "the Angels aren't back, are they?"
"I haven't got the foggiest," the Doctor grumbled irritably. Losing his friends had not done much for his mood. "But let's find out."
The Doctor shook his head and said, trying to fake a smile, "I'm always alright." He couldn't quite meet her eyes.
The Doctor was about to say something, but he was interrupted by a loud crash down the street.
"No clue. Want to find out?" The Doctor asked, ready to run towards it.
"Allons-y, then!" the Doctor exclaimed, running towards the noise. He didn't wait to see if Sally was following.
She was. Sally ran after the Doctor. They rounded the corner and she gasped, "what is that?" She asked.
The Doctor's eyebrows were raised. "What?" he said. "That's not possible." He continued staring. "They all died. They can't be here."
"Zygons, but they died in the Time War," the Doctor said, thinking. He aimed his sonic at them to check. Just then, the zygons seemed to notice them.
"Yep," the Doctor replied, popping the "p". "Shapeshifting aliens." The Zygons began approaching. "I suggest we run."
The Doctor ran around the corner and than paused for a second before sonicking a door and stepping inside.
"We need to figure out if they have any humans they're stealing the forms of," the Doctor stated like it should have been obvious.
The Doctor huffed. Quickly, he said, "Zygons can mimic human forms by stealing humans and keeping them in a sort of stasis so that the humans don't go walking in when the Zygons are using their forms. We need to find where they're keeping the bodies."
"Because that's what Zygons do!" he insisted.
The Doctor opened a door. Apparently, that was how one found out exactly where they were.
"Apparently, yeah," the Doctor replied.
"Well, we still have to stop the Zygons' plan -- whatever that is," the Doctor corrected.
"I don't know. . .they're all supposed to be dead," the Doctor murmured, frowning at the humans.
"Okay... Well if the humans are here, then maybe they have a base or something in the same area?" She suggested
"Sally Sparrow, you're a star!" the Doctor exclaimed. "There's a UNIT base a block away!"
"Unified Intelligence Taskforce," the Doctor replied, looking at her like she was stupid.
"They have their own file on you and you don't even know they exist? So human. Typical," the Doctor said.
"You might want to look into that," he added.
"They do it to anyone who has any connection to me," the Doctor furthered.
"They like to keep track. . . .technically, I never resigned," the Doctor protested.
"Well, let's free these people then! Allons-y!" the Doctor exclaimed, changing the topic and rushing into the building.
The Doctor showed Sally how to free the people and then set to work himself.
