Ashley Chen | 950 comments I have started part 2 of this book and currently at the beginning of Chapter 8. Personally, I believe that Queen Corra is the best queen in my opinion so far. Queen Corra is truly an Eonist but not a pretentious character. I love that she gets straight to the facts and truly cares about finding out who murdered Iris.

Queen Stessa is the second best. She is honest, but not in a way that is exactly harsh and mean, even if the book represents it in that way. Just like how the book calls a spited throat, “grisly”. The queens should never meet Jack the Ripper then. XD. I do have a question about Stessa and Lyker’s forbidden romance. Question: is there really a specific reason for the queens not being able to marry whoever they choose? Sure you could bring up Rule 8 (The queen is forbidden to marry) but like there are matching balls for the queen to find a mate that she’s satisfied with and “mate” to have a daughter before the age of 45. Why can’t Stessa mate with Lyker?

Ashley Chen | 950 comments As I read on, I’m beginning to have Queen Marguerite as my second best queen. The confusion with Stessa and Lyker has debunked her to my third best queen, but she is still a very good queen according to her characteristics.

Queen Marguerite is basically the best character with troubling secrets in this book. However, Corra seems to intrigue me very much with hers. I have heard from other readers of this book that Corra’s secret is problematic. So if the author does not improve Corra and her secret with the future chapters then sadly Corra is debunked to second best.

This book is also very easy to read btw.
