I hear you. I can't avoid a) stopping at bookstores and b) buying at least one book. I try to go for used or bargains, though. I got a bargain on an Alice Munro hardcover this weekend at B.Dalton.

I just got four free boxes of books from Craigslist but I only kept one. Most were law books and text/guides I did get Hemingway though! I was going to buy it but I got it!
I am going to pick up 11 more free boxes later tonight (rather my husband is) and then I may just calm it down a little since I have no room. I am waiting for my uncle and husband to custom make me one but probably not until after the holidays.

OK so I only kept 4 of the 11 boxes. So I got 130 books off of Cragslist thus far.
In the 11 boxes I got a lot of classics and first editions so...??? I am very happy and am more happy knowing that I didn't have to apy for them!

I left them in my hallway for other to take it. I live in an apt. building so I left a notice saying FREE BOOKS if no one takes them then they get recycled.
Oh yeah? I don't know much about it but I always here good things and I think it may be our January read here at work.
