Serial Readers Unite! discussion

Welcome to our first quarterly challenge! This challenge begins September 23, 2019 and runs until Dec 21, 2019. All fall long. Well fall for those of us in the northern hemisphere. Spring users are welcome to still join us!

For this challenge, your goal is to simply collectively read more series books than Sans and Jamie combined. So it is all members vs the two of us. Anyone can join at anytime. The only requirement is that you have to be active with this group (have a thread tracking your series, join another challenge or our monthly pick its, be chatty on other threads, etc).


This challenge is based on and loosely borrowed from YA Buddy Readers' Corner ♥ (https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...) This is a greap group with fun monthly challenges so be sure to check them out!


How this will work:

For each series book you read post it on the tracking thread. This will be created closer to the start date. You (your team) gains points based on the # of the series it is in.
So the first book in a series gets you 1 points, books 2 is 2 points,etc. Up to 10 points max. Books that are longer than 10 books automatically get 10 points.
Exceptions:
-Graphic Novels/Manga/picture books get 1/2 the value. So a volume 4 of a manga series would get 2 points, volume 5 is 2.5 points. *However you can still earn up to 10 points (volume 20 or higher to do so)
-Novellas: Novellas are worth 1 point regardless where in the series it is.
-Re-reads: Re-reads are worth 1/2 value (So book 3 is worth 1.5 points and if it is a graphic novel/manga, half it again to .75). You can only count re-reads if you have never fully finished the series.

*Books must be finished between the challenge date. You may count books started prior to the start date.
*You must post the book on the tracking thread within 2 weeks of finishing. No reviews are necessary. We go off the honor system here unless you give us a reason to challenge that.

The mods will periodically add up the scores. Hopefully at least once a week but this can vary based on our lives and also how active this challenge gets.
