I have to apologize, I really thought I had already posted this discussion back before I left for Labor Day weekend. No one said anything LOL!
Desperation was the first book I ever read from Stephen King. I was on a city bus riding to school over the summer because I failed Geometry. The only class I ever got an F in in high school. Luckily I fixed the grade over summer to a B.
Desperation was a quick and gripping read about a town plagued by an old monster. Our antagonist is a filthy cop from this small town. I fell in love with King's writing while reading this book because I could certainly visualize everything he was saying, but it was the first time I could smell something being described in a book. If you have reached the sentence in the book where the bloody phlegm slid down the windshield and smelled like rotten meat. You'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
I hope you all are enjoying this book. It is my favorite to date. Although I haven't reread it since high school. I was going to reread it with you guys, but I'm currently finishing up Rose Madder which I'm loving by the way.
Desperation does have a movie that came out in 2006, with the same title. It's a little over 2 hours and is rated R. You can rate Desperation on Amazon Prime for $2.99
