I started reading the Dungeon Samurai series with Kit Sun Cheah with Kamikaze.

Being abducted into another world rather like a video game!

The thing is, Cheah is going more for the approach of "What would it actually be like?"

S&S fans might like it.

Finished it off with Kami no Kishi and Seisen. Can recommend the whole series.
