I started reading the Dungeon Samurai series with
Kit Sun Cheah
with
Kamikaze
.
Being abducted into another world rather like a video game!
The thing is, Cheah is going more for the approach of "What would it actually be like?"
S&S fans might like it.

Kami no Kishi
and
Seisen
. Can recommend the whole series.
