Harvesting the Heart (but have started it once or twice)

and I'm about 1/2 way through Mercy.

I've read everything else.

For anyone who hasn't read it, Second Glance was great. It took a little bit for all the characters to come togther but once they did it was awesome. It's one you don't hear about as much but I loved it.

I have not yet read:

Change of Heart
Vanishing Acts

and I have only read half of Songs of the Humpback Whale...couldn't stay interested.

So what did you think? I haven't had a chance to start it. Kathy

you only need the first half (songs of the humpback whale) because the story basically retells itself. Perhaps it was one half about the guys story and the other half from girls. You didnt miss much. I had a hard time getting through it.

So far, I liked My Sister's Keeper best. The plot was so gripping and what a courageous ending. Can't imagine that Hollywood wants to change the ending for the movie?!

I didn't know that Hollywood was planning to change the ending. The ending is what makes the story so very compelling!!!

Isn't this incredible.

One Goodreads-member was at a signing of Jodi Picoult and posted on here that Picoult was pretty upset when she told the fans that the film-producers wanted to change the ending.

This Goodreads-member also posted two email-addresses where fans of Picoult's book could write to, although I doubt that filmmakers would listen to us - still, it is better than doing nothing.

I did email both Mr. Johnson and Mr. Emmerich with a respectful email quite a while ago. Guess what? I never heard back. The original email giving the addresses also alleged they said that "readers didn't matter" and I was more concerned with this statement than the ending change. I asked them if, in fact, this statment was made. So many people loved My Sister's Keeper and it was such a widely read book. Perhaps readers should boycott the movie and tell their friends to too. Then they will see how much readers matter.

I can imagine how frustrating that must have been for you. Yes, probably that is exactly what we readers should do, boycott the movie.

My sister (who loves the book as much as I do) told me that in any case she was wondering whether Cameron Diaz (?) would really fit the mother's role?!

In any case, this statement (readers don't matter) is absolutely disrespectful, hurting and it makes me turn away in disgust to see how Hollywood simply pays money to get the rights for the movie & don't give the slightest shxx about how the author herself feels about the movie adaption.

This is bad, very much so.

I loved, loved, loved My Sister's Keeper. In fact it might be one of my Top 3 favorite books along with An Unquiet Mind by Kay Jamison and The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver. I would love to talk to you about the book after you have read it.

Last month I read Harvesting the Heart and Change of Heart, so that puts me up to 6. Nineteen Minutes is being shipped to me this week.

I think you'll love Nineteen Minutes, Brittany! I haven't read Harvesting the Heart, but I've read The Pact, My Sister's Keeper, Change of Heart, and The Tenth Circle. Do you guys think I'll like Harvesting the Heart?

Allison- I liked HtH. It's only her second novel, and the style is different from her more current work. But it was good. I also loved Plain Truth.

I think my next one will be either of those! I'm trying to read one Joy Fielding book, then one Jodi.

I love Joy Fielding too!!!
