Serves as its own glowing recommendation for the work.

I'm on a rec-by-translator kick.

It's in large part as useful as rec-by-publisher; actually probably more so, as the time-commitment by the translator is so much greater. I suppose, for the same reason, it's much more limited though.

For BURIED purposes, that short catalogue (compared with a publisher's catalogue) is an advantage -- that unread/BURIED book trans'd by the same translator as Popular Book X ;; for instance, John E Woods from Thomas Mann to Arno Schmidt -- that kind of path is valuable.

So anyway, it's flattering to see I was briefly important enough to be a link--but Berto's good, at least in Incubus, or in Il Male Oscuro, if you tongue happens to twist that way. One of my favorites.
That Incubus novel is trans'd by William Weaver, a name familiar to all readers of Italian post-mod.
An Italian edition of that same novel was discovered with an Introduction by Carlo Emilio Gadda, whose novel is so good and so postmodern..... that, Why I've not read it too yet.
So, just two more names in addition to "Svevo".
