I blog at knittedbygodsplan.blogspot.com, mostly about writing, whether it be my own books, or writing advice. I sometimes talk about various cliches and do commentaries on fairy tales as well, and I post a monthly link-up called Character Encounter, where I assign a location and you can encounter your character there on your blog.

Hi Margaret, good idea on having separate blogs for yourself and your book. Do you find that splits your audience when you blog on two separate sites or do the same people visit both blogs regularly?
Hi,I think having a definite schedule for a blog makes it's harder and less fun.
I just started to have a blog on my Goodreads author page, I have only written two so far and I'm happy with those -- I think for me if I made myself write a blog habitually that it would no fun (I used to have a monthly deadline for something I wrote and it felt like a burden after a while, finally I had to stop).
The best time to write is when you feel inspired but I guess if it's more for a business then you do need deadlines and such probably.
Just have fun with it though because when you are having fun it shows in the blog and readers will have fun. :)

I write for a blog that does movie, tv, and book reviews, top ten lists, culture rants about things that bug us, etc.
Hey Sydney, I used to have the same outlook on blogging, but recently I've come to find that having a deadline is actually a good thing. Knowing that I have to get a post done by Monday helps me more disciplined about my writing and it carries over into my other projects. Plus I find the more that I write, the more inspiration I get! For me, it's all about getting a higher daily word count and I found when I was lax on deadlines, my writing sessions were less frequent. But it can vary from writer to writer. You're right about having fun though, readers can definitely tell when you're just going through the motions and I certainly don't want that! :)

However I do at times cross over with a link from my book blog to my personal blog if I feel it is appropriate to get to a wider audience. Some people are friends on both blogs when they realize I am the author of the book!

Margaret, that's wonderful! It's great that you can get some crossover from different blogs and reach multiple readers.Brianna, wow, you do have a lot of content on your blog. When I was your age I wasn't writing half as much, so keep up the good work!
I do have a blog over on my website, www.morganhuneke.com. I try to post once a week, usually something sort of writing related, but I also do book reviews and things about issues, political, Christianity related, and other things that interest me. Right now, I'm writing posts on my favorite fictional characters when I can't think of anything else to post. I also have a book and movie review blog I run with my sisters, www.shirereviews.blogspot.com.

Writing is my favorite thing to do, so I do it frequently. J My dad gets frustrated as my computer becomes more and more worn, even after only two years of use!
Morgan, great idea on writing blog posts of your favorite fictional characters, that's a fun topic to write about I'm sure. I might just have to do that myself!Brianna, are you participating in NaNoWriMo this year? I'm sure with as much writing as you do, that would be a great outlet ;)
Hey. I blog at A Writer's Heart (http://shantellemaryh.blogspot.com/). About my writings, books and movies I like, and random other things. Writers write I guess. Blogging is just such fun for me. And its really a good way for a budding author to kind of get their name out and connect with readers and writers. Also I think its great how authors band together and do cover reveals and books spotlights with each other. Great way to help each other out in the world of publishing (especially independently-publishing)! :)

I've got a new blog at kintsugichristian.com where I'll post mainly about growing in the faith and healing through God. I'm just getting into the swing of things and I'm trying to post consistently on Fridays. I plan to eventually have it include the writing side of my calling. :)

I used to have a author blog. I thought it would be fun to have one.I posted once a week, talking about my children's books, but "assumed" that my blog shouldn't be promoting me or my books.
I looked at other blogs for ideas. I posted a couple of book reviews, but then... along the way, I guess it got into a depressing battle that I had to get rid of it. It was too much on my emotions.
Any way, I would post a little on Facebook or use my Goodreads blog, and that's about it.
I have great ideas on using a blog for "book tours" or maybe book reviews, once I start my YA series, but I keep getting this feeling that I don't "need" a blog. To be honest, I don't know what's the RIGHT way to use an author/book blog!
I'm not even sure if I'm in the right position for a blog... especially when I'm writing/publishing two different series for two different age groups!
