This is the second book in the Dresden Files series, and I liked it a lot better than the first one. I'm definitely going to continue this series. I enjoy the humor, the supernatural elements are well done, and the plot on this one had some interesting twists and turns.
I could definitely do without the rampant chauvinism, but I've heard the series gets better as it goes along, so here's hoping.
It gets better too! The writing and character development improve a lot past book 4, IMO. My favorite so far has been #6 - one of the greatest opening scenes ever!
I was pretty meh on the Dresden Files in the first book, but I devoured Fool Moon in one evening and was hooked from then. They do get better as they go, but they're still pretty dude-ish books. They're fun for what they are, but I'm honestly worried Butcher has gotten bored with them and may not finish the series out.
