The Kirkus Prize winners were just announced and all three winners are African American:
Colson Whitehead
Saeed Jones
Jerry Craft

The Kirkus Prize is one of the richest literary awards in the world, bestowing $50,000 prizes annually to authors of fiction, nonfiction, and young readers’ literature. $50,000!!!
