It was interesting for a minute, but it is a bit of a cliche. The progression in character evolution is slow in my opinion and unremarkable. There childhood "relationship", present interaction and the the circumstance of events that lead to this story just don't fit properly. The first volume had a good, funny arc of "I want to act with these newly found powers" for good and not well, the instinct he has yet to act upon, it turns into not such a happy ending. Funny is it was, I just didn't know where the story was going to head at that point. There blood, gore and torture scenes aren't that exceptional for a title and a storyline with a better promise...
I would recommend something better than this. Unless you are looking for a B rated manga series with blood, gore and simple characters. So is it good? No, its not in my opinion.
