Conny | 646 comments I did not participate in 2019 because I found it too hard to do two full-size prompt-based challenges (I am a long-term taker of the PopSugar Challenge and I refused to double-dip when I was doing both challenges in 2018). For 2020, however, the categories look so good (I am trying to use as many books from my TBR as possible) that I am willing to try again. Moreover, PopSugar still haven't published their 2020 challenge and I was getting impatient^^
My own rules: This time I will allow re-reads and cross-challenge double-dipping (i. e. counting the same book for both challenges), although I will try to keep the former to a reasonable minimum (except for my planned Dark Tower series re-read) and avoid the latter if at all possible. Also, I will start by pledging only the categories I can fill from my TBR, leaving the unpopulated ones out for now. That may change, of course, as the year progresses and my TBR grows once again.

I've knocked off a few books of the PopSugar list and now I need to get a move on for the ATY :D

PROGRESS: 42/52

message 44: by Conny (last edited Nov 02, 2020 08:09AM) (new)

Conny | 646 comments With two months left in the year, I have 10 prompts left for the ATY and 8 for PopSugar. That's eighteen books in total to read until December 31, and even though I'm fast and it should be doable for me, I am not quite sure if I'll be able to meet that goal.
I have decided to power through the PS challenge first, mainly because I've been doing it longer and it somehow feels right to give it precedence, but also because the books I have slotted for it include a few quicker reads which will hopefully free up some more reading time for me toward the end. I may also swap a few pending books out against shorter ones from my TBR, just to take the edge off. I like the challenge aspect, but I don't want to rush through it and forget about the actual point: the enjoyment of reading.

I have temporarily lowered my reading goal for the ATY to 45 prompts but will still try to make it all the way to the end!
