Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11206 comments 30.3 - Dlmrose's task: Greek Key

A greek key is a decorative border constructed from a continuous line, shaped into a repeated motif.
 photo 7c80d50e-ff8e-43b2-92f8-3d966aa293ff.png

Read two books using two different options. REQUIRED: Identify the options you chose when you post.

Option 1. Read a book with a lock and/or key on the cover- the lock image must show a keyhole or locking system like a combination lock/keypad used exclusively to secure something.
Bitterblue (Graceling Realm, #3) by Kristin Cashore The Lock Artist by Steve Hamilton The House of Silk A Sherlock Holmes Novel by Anthony Horowitz
REQUIRED: Include the cover when you post.

Option 2. The greek key is also known as a meander. The motif took its name from the river Meander, a river with many twists, mentioned by Homer in Iliad. Read a book from the list Best Twists
REQUIRED: Indicate the page and the book's numbered position on the list.

Option 3. The meander became associated with the legends of King Minos of Crete and the story of Theseus slaying the Minotaur in the labyrinth.

Read a book with one of these words in the title or subtitle: labyrinth, maze, jungle, snarl, tangle, warren. Plurals, possessives and compound words or variations that preserve the word meaning may be used.

Option 4. Read a book with a repeating pattern of items or design elements on the cover. The items must be arranged in an organized pattern and be similar in size and style. ex.
Bad Apple by Laura Ruby The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P. by Adelle Waldman Ten Lords A-Leaping A Mystery (Father Christmas Mystery #3) by C.C. Benison Now You See It How the Brain Science of Attention Will Transform the Way We Live, Work, and Learn by Cathy N. Davidson The First Husband by Laura Dave
Required: Include the cover when you post.

Thanks.

Well, shoot, I see you've approved a similar title from the same series, so I guess this one is OK. Sorry to bother you.

Bea Would this cover qualify for option 4? The Broken Window (Lincoln Rhyme, #8) by Jeffery Deaver ('0' and '1' repeats)

message 11: by Teri-K (last edited Nov 18, 2014 04:56PM) (new)

Teri-K Is it my computer, or is the Best Twist list not functioning? For me, and I've tried it several times, it works until page 11 which has every entry numbered 995. Page 12 has 995 and then switches to 1133. And it continues like that through the final page.

Teri-K Then how do I identify the # for the book I want to use, if an entire page has the same #? Should I add the location on the page, perhaps? And would that be considered enough?

No, just make note of the page and number when you select the book and that's fine.
