If you have established a virtual bookshelf or two here at GoodReads that is/are dedicated to books about JA or Austenesque Inspired Books, please consider posting a link here so others may browse your shelf/shelves.

Ceri | 233 comments Thanks Sophia! My shelf is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

I have some other Austen-inspired shelves too, splitting them down by modern/historical/variation etc but the one linked above has pretty much all Austenesque I've read.

Here is my Austenesque To Be Read Shelf: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

And Here is my Austenesque Wish List Shelf: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

Georgiana 1792 | 95 comments Here's my Austenesque shelf.
I crossed out the old-friends-new-fancies tag from the books on my wish-list. Of course there are also a few Italian editions...

(When you see many editions of the same book is either because I re-read it or because I translated it into Italian) ;)

You have an impressive list, Georgiana! I saw several I wasn't familiar with. Thanks for sharing!

message 6: by Erika (new)

Erika (eureeka75) | 92 comments This is my catch-all Jane Austen shelf in which anything to do with JA is put in here, then I place them into my 'read', 'to read', 'to be purchased' shelves.

Very nice, Erika!

I have a bunch of those either on my pile or wish list like the PO Dixons, but you have several I didn't even know about. Thanks for sharing!

message 8: by Erika (new)

Erika (eureeka75) | 92 comments Any time Sophia. I plan to check out everyone's lists when I have more time this weekend.

message 9: by Katrin (new)

Katrin (kaewink) | 9 comments I have two austenesque shelves on Goodreads:

The books I read:
https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

and the books that are on my wish-list/tbr-list:

Elisabetta | 17 comments Here's my Austenesque shelf.

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
I like how you organized the two different shelves. I might have to borrow that idea, Katrin.

message 12: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
It's fun to see familiar books with Italian titles and covers, Elisabetta.

message 13: by Ceri (new)

Ceri | 233 comments I have an Austenesque TBR shelf too: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

message 14: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
And I thought my wish list was long...Ceri wins!!!! I need to do this too. I just have the one shelf and its only 'read' books on it. My 'wish list' is all mixed in, but I need to sort it like yours and Katrin's.

message 15: by Angela (new)

Angela Quarles (angelaquarles) | 3 comments Getting lost down all the rabbit holes here! Creating a shelf too...

message 16: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
LOL, Angela! Embrace the crazy. Look forward to seeing your shelf.

message 17: by Ceri (new)

Ceri | 233 comments The worst of it is that I don't always add things to my TBR list here, so it's not even complete! I usually add them to my amazon wish list so I can keep an eye on the prices but I don't always remember to add them here. It's great seeing other people's Austenesque shelves.

message 18: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
That's funny! I've got an Amazon list too and I'm pretty sure that it doesn't even match what I've got set as wish list books here at GoodReads. One of these days I should probably get them in sync.

message 19: by Erika (new)

Erika (eureeka75) | 92 comments I too have an Amazon wishlist, and haven't added those here either. Will need to do that at some point.

*Sophia whistles appreciatively* Nice stack of read books. And that is a good challenge of TBR books too.

message 23: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Slightly off this topic, but I wasn’t sure where else to put it. Maybe—with a view to encouraging participants to make their lists even longer than they already are :)—we could each list a few of the Austenesque novels we already read this year that were our favorites. What do you think?

Top three for me (so far): Haunting Mr. Darcy - A Spirited Courtship; Emma and Elizabeth; The Naturalist.

message 24: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
Hi Abigail! Recommendations are always great. We can put those on the bookshelf at the bottom of the main page. It's for book club choices, but we'll use it for recommendations by just not putting in reading dates. I'll put your books there for you and you can add more as you go.

message 25: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) Thanks, Sophia!

Anytime Sophia, glad to help out. I made a shelf for books I'd like to read for this challenge, just chech out my shelves.

message 27: by Ahnya (new)

Ahnya I need to stop browsing everyone's bookshelves. I started in Marianne Dashwood level, and now I am venturing into Anne Elliot! That being said, thanks everyone for posting I am finding it most helpful.

message 28: by Dung (new)

Dung | 11 comments Oh my,instead of making a dent I'm adding more books to the list because of everyone's bookshelf!

I think I need to add more categories to be better organized my JAFF reading... I have 796 books in my TBR list and I think 80% of them are P&P JAFF.

message 29: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
Then you definitely do not want to see the Promotional Place listings. Haha! Yes, I've had the same thoughts myself Dung.

message 30: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
The perils of the wishlist. Amazon was smart when they started those carousel lists on the page of each book with all those similar books. I ended up with so many books on my wish list that way.

message 31: by Kaycie (last edited Dec 18, 2014 09:28AM) (new)

Kaycie (kaycieo) | 4 comments Ok... so here is my list: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

That being said, I have a list with my public library and the midwestern electronic library (ebooks) that I haven't completely added to this. I'm sure there is stuff on my amazon book wishlist that is not on here either.

Edit: Oh and I'm lazy so some are marked read, but I'm not making another shelf and sorting them. Haha...

message 32: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
Oh, you're in good company, Kaycie! Nice list!

message 33: by Ceri (new)

Ceri | 233 comments Thanks for sharing Kaycie, I thought I had pretty much everything on my wishlists/tbr shelves but I found a new one on yours!

This my list for reading, Maybe..Not sure this will work.

message 35: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
I think that list will work great, Carol. You can just update those you read under whichever level that you are working on and people can go to your shelf to see all your books.

Kaycie (kaycieo) | 4 comments Ceri wrote: "Thanks for sharing Kaycie, I thought I had pretty much everything on my wishlists/tbr shelves but I found a new one on yours!"

Glad you found something new on it! I really need to update it and add all the things I have at the physical/digital library and amazon on here. I started to, but I'm in the middle of a ton of projects...and several books...so who knows when I'll get to it. My goal is before the end of the year. =D Maybe you will find some more things on there after that is done.

Maria | 47 comments Here's my Austenesque shelf :)
https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
There are also some non-fiction books I like to read every now and then to know something more about Jane and Regency era. I wanted to create two different shelves (read and to-read), but since those I've read are not many, I think I will do that in the future! :) Thanks for sharing your shelves, ladies! There are so many interesting books!

message 38: by Lou (new)

Lou LaJeunesse | 9 comments Here is my Austenesque bookshelf.
Enjoy! Only 5 days until the challenge begins but I read so much at times this one may be finished before the challenge starts. I need to be better organized with my shelves I think.

My Jane Austen/Austenesque read shelf: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

message 40: by Deborah (new)

Deborah | 55 comments I was wondering if anyone knows how to add NOOK books without manually adding each one separately. It would be too daunting a task as I have 1800 all told.

message 41: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
Sorry, I don't, Debbie, but maybe someone else will come along who does know. I manually added all mine and it took a long time.

message 42: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Kelley (nancy_kelley) | 12 comments This is a great idea. I've tried to tag all my Austenesque books as such; here's my shelf: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

message 43: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
Happy New Year, Nancy!

I'm so glad you could join us. *whistles* That's an admirable size shelf that you need to work through. Lots of potentially wonderful reading in that mix. Best of luck on the challenge.

message 44: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Kelley (nancy_kelley) | 12 comments Some of them I've read, but yeah... mostly they're ones people have mentioned, or that I've purchased, and... yeah. Lots of reading. I'd create a list and shelf for the books I want to read for the challenge, but the easiest way to ensure I don't read a book is to put it on a list. (With a few rare exceptions.) Then I feel guilty for not doing what I said I would do.

I probably will create a shelf and put books on it this year as I finish them.

message 45: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
I'm a mood reader so I never plot out a list of that nature so you're in good company. I have a shelf of all the books I own and those I want to own and also one for what I've read. That is as close as I come to lists. Plenty to keep me busy for sure.

message 46: by Ceri (new)

Ceri | 233 comments I plan some of my reads but I need some freedom to choose on a whim too, so say I want to read 8 books in a month I'll plan 4 and leave the other 4 to pick as I go along.

message 47: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
That's a nice way to allow for making the time to get your reading done, but leave room for whatever catches your eye. Now that I think about it, that's probably a little true of me b/c my review books are all planned out so they'll be read for the blog schedule, but my personal reads are whichever one takes my fancy.

message 48: by Madeleine (new)

Madeleine | 1 comments This thread is fabulous! I'm still in the process of putting all my Austenesque books on Goodreads but here is my list anyway:

https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

Thanks for sharing everyone!

message 49: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Kelley (nancy_kelley) | 12 comments I generally keep 10 books on my currently reading shelf and try to stick to those. It's enough room to have a variety of genres and lengths, but a short enough list to keep me focused a little. Considering how many books I own, some focus is a good thing.
