Yes! I actually just finished Michelle's story. : ) We might finally get to see who her mystery guy is.

This one is so tough because they all have a little piece of me but I'm going to kinda cheat to answer. Kate and Brody from Take a Chance on Me were created as a way to cope with suicide. Someone I knew died recently and I lived too far away to afford to attend the funeral and it was hard to grieve--so I wrote a story that helped me deal with my own emotions through two characters.

The other character who I just adore is Aaron Hill from The Game Changer. He is dramatic, confused, figuring life out and making a mess of it--but he overcomes it and I think we all are like that at some point in our life. (He also fiercely protects his friends and girlfriend and I resonate with that)

I recently got offered a contract for an enemies-to-lovers, oops-I-fell-for-my-boss sports romance and am working on edits for that story, while starting to write book two of the series!

This question is fun and tough because different parts of my life shaped my favorite author at the time:
JK Rowling started my love of reading
Jennifer Crusie, Nora Roberts, Shannon Stacey got me interested in reading romance
Mariana Zapata, Tijan, and LJ Shen are my recent favs!

carrie thackston I love the "worst part of the day" "best part of the day" it's such an easy thing to do, but so impactful and a great way to connect and show you care. What gave you this idea?

I spent a lot of my life in school, whether a student or teacher, so if I could be ANY character for a day, I think I would be a teacher at Hogwarts. It would be incredible to be in that world.

Music and a clean kitchen. I'm insane when it comes to that--if I can see a mess around me, my brain can't focus. So I clean everywhere around me and blast my latest obsession. I tend to listen to the same two-three songs for an entire book and must have it to write.

I honestly loved writing Gideon from Evening the Score. I had never written a character who was a total asshole before and I wanted the challenge to show his growth in small, tiny bits and it was really fun to write a cranky, grumpy man.

Also, the teenagers in Evening the Score were a blast.

I actually used to do this with students when I taught high school. They could always focus on the negative so I wanted to acknowledge the hard parts of their day/life but always remember to focus on the positives. It really let me get to know them and it took less than thirty seconds to do so.
